Been away from the BMW for a while, but not too long in coming back. Thought I'd put some pics of my M5 ....not :-) 530 up. More than happy and cant afford the real thing....one day :-)

Even although it has already had a few things done, i'll be thinking of the next changes.

    Glad to be back!

  2. Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a good car detailer? I have what i would call a good base to work with, ie. it's already clean (or what i think is clean) and it also has quite a good shine, but not showroom or show condition...I'm sure this can be improved.

    Howick/Pakuranga/East TAmaki would be great.

    Cheers

  3. Before I go any further, I don't have the option of changing the car...(not for another 12 Months).

Anyway, I get itchy feet at least twice a year and usually just change cars. This time I can't. So to keep me happy I want to make some mods to the car.....in a $4-5k budget.

So what would you do? Ideally I'd like a quicker responce to the throttle and a bit more HP.

My thoughs are (but not knowing the cost)...

    1. Supercharger / turbo?

    2. Exhaust?

    3. V8 Transplant?

Wouldn't be able to do any of them myself unfortunately, so need to factor this in the cost.

  4. Hi All,

My daughter needs her Auto Box on her VW checked out....It's got a harsh change between 1-2nd. We had it fully drained and filled with Synthetic transmission fluid, but not made any difference. No doubt there are other things to check before we start looking for a gearbox.

If anyone knows any good places to take it to in East Aucks (Howick/East Tamaki/Penrose, etc)... Cheers

  5. Hi All...

Wonder if you can help? My daughter finally bout another car... not a BM, but a VW (Golf VR6). She only bought it last night, but when she got it home I had a quick drive in it.... Overall it doesn't seem to bad, but the change between 1st and 2nd on the auto is quite harsh.

Is this something that can be fixed easily, if so how?

Also seems to be pulling slightly to the left...might be tracking?

Any help will be appreciated..I'm just hoping she has not wasted her cash...

  6. I'm going to get flamed to hell for this, but any new driver should be driving a Manual. If you can't cope with a Manual you can't cope with the road.

    Unless you are disabled.

    I do agree......

She can drive manual, but certainly more used to the Automatic......and if it makes me happier when she is out on the road that she doesn't have too much to think about then this is what she'll get. If she wants to change when she's older then all good.
