  4. polished the lip resprayed the centers...now in for sale section looking good :)

    Hi danutt,

I just bought a set of rims that need some lip polishing and respraying of centers. Where did you have yours done? Can you give me an idea of how much it will cost per rim? Thanks mate.

  5. Hey everyone,

This workshop is coming up next week. I've just updated the location, the Apex Megacentre is directly opposite Sylvia Park.

Let me know if you're planning to come along so I can get an idea of numbers.

Also post any particular topics you want me to cover or have them ready to ask me on the night. The stuff that I'll be going through will be very much dictated by what you want to learn about.

    Hi Viktro,

I only have a small 12 megapixel canon digital camera but I love taking photos of my cars. I would very much want to attend but am worried that what you will teach will be way above the capabilities of my camera. Please advise. Cheers.

  6. Hey there umm well i don't really know whats cool but over the years i have many brands of tyres on my cars. It's all down to budget what you can afford your driving style and what you drive.I wouldn't just put a set of tyres on for the cool factor as there a key item that keeps you in contact with the road.I'm running Kumho Ecsta 16"s so far I'm very impressed by them as price wise there reasonable and great grip in the wet and dry.But there on a 318i so there's not a lot of power running through them. What kind of wheels do you have size etc? i would upgrade that as well if you want that sort of attention from people.

Hi EVILRE30, I am upgrading from a 205x55x16 to a set of mags which are 17x7.5 and I would like a really nice set of "good looking" tyres. Let's assume that money is not really an issue, so what tyres would be considered "flash"?

  7. Depends what you are doing - but I'd be very interested in a better tyre than the Michelin Pilot Super Sports currently rolling under my M3. Insane grip - wet and dry. Whether they are "cool" isn't as important as whether they hang on!!!! (to me, anyway)

Hi, E90 M3, let's say a tyre not for motorsport activities but just for going to work and hanging out. What brand would turn heads and make them say, "nice tyres"?

  8. When I was a teen-ager back in the Philippines, one was considered really cool if he had Pirelli tyres on his car. Later on Michelin tried to catch up on the same status followed by Uni-Royals, Continentals then Bridgestone. I lost track of what was considered a "cool" tyre after Uni. May I have some opinions on what brand is currently as a cool set of tyres? Cheers.

  9. Does anyone know if this will fit into my E46? It is from a 750iL. The stud pattern is 5x120 so I know it is the same but I don't know if the center bore hole is the same. The offset is 20mm so I hope this will push the tires towards the guard. Help please, the auction ends on Tuesday. Cheers.post-16093-1328949945.jpg

  10. Hi. My E46 generates a relatively large amount of brake dust on the front mags as compared to my Toyota. The mags already look dirty after only a week of using the car. Is this normal for an E46 or is there something wrong with my car? I have to clean the front mags once a week and it's quite stressfull on my back. I spray WD40 on soft paper towels and use this to wipe away the brake dust. Does anyone know an easier way? Cheers.

  11. post-16093-1328579612.jpg

I walked into a magwheel shop last Saturday and saw something similar to the BBS mags that I like. Above is the catalog photo. The brand is called PETROL. The sales person was not sure where it is made(I think they should know). Does anyone know if this is a reliable brand? It is quite pricey at $1420 per set of 4. Cheers.

  12. I have a full set of Genuine BBS RGs for the 3 series 8J ET 38 fronts and 9J ET 41 rears. They have some curbing though, so I am not sure if you would be interested or not, but PM if you are. :)

Hi swordfish. Did you get my PM? I made one but am not sure if I was able to press the send button. Cheers.

  13. You could try a listing in Trade me Motor Parts Wanted BMW section

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-wanted/bmw

Thanks Glenn, I will look into that. Would you know where BBS wheels are made and do they have good quality magwheels? A BMW mechanic told me to use only original BMW magwheels because most available aftermarket ones are less in quality than the BMW ones. Something to do with balance, stability, and durability, I think.

  14. post-16093-1328058811.jpg

Hi. I took the attached photo on an E46 last week and I am considering getting a set for my 2002 E46 318ci. Can anyone tell me where I can buy this type and what is the model number of this magwheel? My first option is a used one with minor or no curb marks but if none are available I will settle for a new one. I think BMW came out with an original that looks almost exactly like this but I don't even know where to start looking. Would appreciate some help for a newbie. Cheers.
