  1. I appear to be having this issue: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=353371

Have a look at the attached SIB in the 2nd post.

    Basically:

    1. Only happens in full auto
    2. Usually only when the car is cold
    3. Usually only in 2nd and 3rd gear
    4. Car "lurches" 2-3 times while accelerating lightly
    5. Does not happen if I accelerate hard
A lot of people seem to have corrected the issue with an update to the ECU software - anyone come across this?

  2. Hello Autogravity!

My e92 is booked in with you later this month to have the BT phone/streaming upgrade. I have some questions. Figure I may as well ask these publicly in case anyone else is interested.

    1. I understand the CD changer will be useless, which is fine - will you completely remove it?

    2. What is the "PC Card" slot for above the CD Changer? Will this be removed too?

    3. Do you do aftermarket amp/sub installs?

  3. Hi, I'm getting a knocking sound most of the time when I drive over a pothole or any kind of bump. It used to happen very rarely, but over time it now happens very regularly.

The car feels fine to drive, just an annoying "knock" every now and then - sounds like it's coming from the front right.

I suspect it's a bush, does that sound right? Could it be something else?

    Much appreciated.

  4. So I've done some research, and I'm keen to get the Hawk Performance HP Street brake pads for my E85.

But looking at their website, something confuses me: http://www.hawkperformance.com/parts/

The 3.0i model has larger rotors (300mm) than the smaller engine versions (286mm). For instance, Hawk only sell rotors for the 3.0i (Part # HUS619). These are the larger versions which would not suit the 2.5i or the 2.0i etc.

But when I look up their parts for the pads, they only list one type for the entire Z4 range (Part # HB546F.654) - shouldn't there be two versions to suit the two sizes of rotors? Could I be under-utilising the larger rotor size by using their one-size-fits-all pads?

-e- added rotor sizes. I guess 7mm is so tiny, it doesn't really make a difference...

  5. Mine came today and they look good but a bit gutted that one of the surrounds was broken and the piece missing from the package.

That sucks, someone else PM'd me that the BMW label on theirs was smudged. I honestly just packed them up so fast, I didn't even notice.

I can tell you though there was definitely no piece in the box.

  6. Came early this morning. thanks.

Hopefully getting my front bumper resprayed and cleaned up next week as the front is chipped to f@#k.

Anyone ditched the plate holders and used strong double sided tape?

I have done that before with europlates, works like a charm - had it on for 4 years on my Merc and never came off. In fact it was an epic mission to finally get them off when I sold the car.

  7. they look good dont they!

    They sure do!

Just an update, I was just in the warehouse at work, the plates are leaving this morning, I didn't quite make it into last nights shipment.

If you're in the North Island, you will likely get it tomorrow. If you're in the South Island, it could be on Friday, but more likely Monday.
