Thanks Glen. I have seen that breakdown, but the part we have is more like no 9, definately not anything like no 8. It is a bit of a curly one! Still need to imagine where it actually bolt to as well.

Just a query regarding the 11147786124 part, it has a "b" after it. Do you know the significance of this? When I look in the parts catalogue, there is no reference to a b? Would also like to know exactly where it should go if possible. Thanks

Hi Glen, the part number I was given should have been 7786124.....acoustic rear cover. Problem sorted, again thanks for the direction.

Hi all, can anyone tell me if this part actually exists? It is off an E46 330d last 7 is PA90494, and the part number looks like 7736124b. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi. Having recently bought a 318i touring with the 2 litre engine, a couple of things I have found are oil leaks from the vacuum pump on the back of the engine, rocker cover gaskets can leak too, and sump gaskets sometimes as well! Other things to check out are electric windows, radiator expansion tank and control arm bushes. That said, love the car, was worth the effort to find and buy! Happy hunting...

New pump has arrived, been tested and now fitted. Problems solved. I've been offered a discount on future purchases which is not a great help and a bit disappointing given my first purchase! You live and learn....
-
I know they offer a warranty on the part itself, and have yet to see what else they can do for the overall process. I have asked but not yet had a reply! Will post a response when I hear more.
-
Have done thank you. A bit disappointed, but it is being sorted. You are quite right though, it was an accident waiting to happen. You guys had any problems like this? The pump came from a reputable Akl BMW parts supplier.....they are replacing it, don't know if they'll help with the costs to get it done though!

My E46 has just developed a vacuum/brake fault. I have just had the vacuum pump replaced with a reconditioned unit as the old one had a bad oil leak and now I have little or no vacuum assisting the brakes! If I drive around town it is dangerous (brakes work but really have to stand on the pedal), but on the open road they are fine if you don't use the brakes much! I suspect the reco'd vacuum pump may be the problem, but any thoughts as to what else may be the problem before I take it back to the garage for further diagnosis? Any help would be appreciated.

Found this site when looking for removal procedure of an E46 vacuum pump and figured I'd share it! I would guess most members would be aware of it, but as a noob, I didn't know about it. It has a range of on line repair manuals available for BMWs....... http://tis.spaghetticoder.org/ Have a look, and if there are any other sites out there, let me know.

Can anyone help with a 16 x 7, ET 47, BMW style 45 wheel? Would like to get one to replace the space saver spare wheel if possible. Thanks.

Hi, any one able to help with a splash panel/plate that goes between the front bumper and the sump guard. Part number is 51 71 7 028 893 and is for my 2004 E46 318i touring. Thanks.

Hi Brent, can anyone register for this site or do you have to do something through your local BMW agent to get access? Just curious more than anything! Thanks.
-
Wow, that was quick! Guess you just need to have the right connections! Thanks very much, I have spent a good couple of hours searching the net and didn't even get close!! Appreciate your help. Thanks.

Hi all. I've been trying to find a VIN decoder to tell me what options my car had fitted at the factory? Can anyone here suggest a site that gives me the full list, or should I go to my local dealer and ask there? If anyone can help, the last 7 digits are PR00316. Any help would be appreciated!
