Hi, selling my OEM Kidney Grilles and OEM brushed Alu dashboard trim piece (vents not included). Kidneys are mint, upgraded to black ones so no longer need the standard ones. Trim piece is in reasonable condition, not mint, couple of dents. Both pieces came of my 06 E60 M5, but they will work with all other E60 models. Looking for $80 for the grills and $50 for the trim piece. Obviously inspection is welcome before purchase. Cheers, Raj

As title states... I may be interested in letting go of my M5, to the right buyer who'd appreciate this mint and rare low km example. Due to possible upcoming travel and work commitments for the next 12-16 months, I'm open to the idea that this car may be put to better use to a new owner who will actually drive it. I purchased it last year from the previous owner in Queenstown, who was selling due to the fact that he had a F10 M5 on order. I've had it serviced and fully checked over at Team McMillan about 500km ago, and even they we're impressed with the outstanding condition it's in. Options from the factory include: 167 Wheel option (M6 wheels) Ipod connectivity Full Bluetooth Telephonics Active bolsters Homelink gate/garage remote integration HUD GPS Navigation (2012 disc included) The car has done 38,000km, and could end up in storage soon. If anyone is seriously interested please PM me. I love opening this car up on the open road, and it puts a smirk on my face everytime I get behind the wheel. Due to the low km and low maintenance this car requires at the moment, I am happy to keep it if the right buyer isn't out there. Wow well done, good find! I hard wired my v1 to the Homelink power supply, and used the sunvisor mount that came with it.Can barely see it if you use a visor mount, as theres no telltale suction cups on the windscreen

Because New Zealand is much smaller market than the U.S., and they have to increase the overheads per vehicle to accommodate for the much smaller demand. You also have to realise the difference in buying power between the 2 economies.

Ahh well at first I realised that if I got pulled up with the M20's I'd be toast, because they have no other function other than jamming. Then I realised that I'd have to remove a significant amount of trim in the engine bay area to get to the grommet in the firewall. Then I realised I haven't kept a car for longer than 6 months in the last 4 years. Then I was just like "pfft, flag". A letter in the mail the other day from the kind people at the LTSA, reminded me how close I was to having to use my bicycle for 3 months again, and I starred grimly into the horizon whilst murmuring "never again...". So now I've just dropped a fat stack of cash to get the latest and greatest from Blinder, the HP-905, and will be having them professionally installed (while I play Gran Turismo 5, eat cake, and NOT get engine goobies on my hands) some time this week. The M20 is a very capable system, but the fact that I would have no defence if someone that oinks saw them, scarred me, so I opted to go for a system that utilizes much smaller heads, as well the ability to disguise its main function.

Yea I agree with that^ V1's already saved my butt twice in the week I've had it. If you have a contact in the States, get them to buy one for you cause they're only $USD400 (NZD$480) there. I got owned by Customs with their GST and bullsh*t admin costs (money-grabbing nazis), so it ended up being quite an expensive endeavour to have it shipped in. I've heard good things about the Beltronics STI Magnum's predecessor, the STI, and I imagine they'd be cheap to get now, so maybe keep an eye out for one of those? If you buy a cheap radar detector, you're sort of going to know that the trade of is that it's not very good, and subsequently won't trust it, which sort of makes the whole process pointless. Best advice would be to look for the better radars (Bel Magnum STI and STI (also the 9500xi which is supposed to be awesome with it's GPS capabilities, and is by no means obsolete), V1 (you want at least version 1.8 though), and Escort Redline (good reviews in Australia, where the fuzz use similar equipment to what's used here) second-hand. Be weary of the listings on trademe where just the radar and the power cable are for sale, as it seems suspicious that they wouldn't be giving all the other stuff that came with it originally (eg: hardwire kit, sunvisor mount, instruction manual, spare suction cups etc), only the things that could be taken in a smash n' grab.

Yea I've narrowed my search down to Blinder HP-905 and Laser Interceptor gen 8. Do you have a rear sensors too? Any merrit in getting the triple or quad variants of these models? Have you had any issues in your dealings with police in regards to these, esp after that May 11' amendment to LTA 1998 (Sec 16b)? Sorry lots of questions!

Man this thread makes M5's looks like their as reliable as an alfa. I'm on my 2nd M5 now. Before I bought either I did a huge amount of homework into their problems and quirks. If they've had a good service history, and all recalls have been carried out, they're fine as daily drivers. I bought my current one privately, so had no CGA or dealer warranty, but found that Jerry Clayton's offer a great warranty for M Cars, which I bought, but haven't needed to claim on yet. I get about 350-400 on a tank mainly city driving, and brake components don't wear especially fast, definitely better longevity than a B7 RS4. They're excellent cars that, as any high strung perfomance cars, have the odd issue, but they're far from being 'unreliable'. Standard service at Claytons for this is $699, would prob be cheaper at places like BMWorkshop.

The last 10 demerits I got was for going 104 on an open road at 1am on a Tuesday. The 20 before that was for going 112 at 4am on a Sunday coming back from Tauranga. I'm not a huge speeder, I just find it difficult to trundle at what really are slow speeds, along roads especially at night when no one else is around. Cops love it when they get someone young doing something minorly wrong, especially in a nice car, to "teach them a lesson while they're young".
