Hi guys, I have brought a 1995 E36 328i auto. that had a major wiring meltdown due to the typical trunk wiring issue. Because of this melt down i have spliced in a new loom from a 1995 325i. I have already sold this car on but only once its all repaired so the pressure is on. my issue is i have NO central locking what so ever and im not sure if its the ZKE module causing it or a wiring muck up on my behalf. some things to note the light in the sunroof switch is always on regardless of key position(flatens battery) when i operate the drivers door lock with the key i can here a relay switch inside the zke module. All my fuses are good. after doing some testing i have found that i am not getting any voltage from pin 9 on connector X13252. going by the bently manual at this link http://www.bimmerwerkz.com/forum/3-s...pdf-67601.html this is the lock signal wire. the car interior is not fully reassembled yet eg interior lights not attached, passenger seat and rear seat still removed, glovebox removed does anyone have any ideas for me or even be able to explain the operation of the locking system for me. eg when you lock the car this voltage is sent here causing this and this to happen.

Anyone seen and know what the small windscreen type washer motor in the boot is. it is bolted to the L/H side of the boot and has a tube running out of the boot to the road. Just need to know so i can figure out some wiring replacement i am doing. and cant seem to find it in the elec. diagrams im looking through. 1995 E36 4 door 328i thanks

No mine is a 4 door. I found the problem, my boot wiring had burnt out so badly that its burnt all the way to the fuse box under the bonnet. Im in the middle of replacing most the the wiring harness as we speak. I only have about 10 wires out of 40 to go

Hey guys, I am currently have a 95 E36 318i with a 328i motor installed. the vehicle owner said that one day "a wiring noise and smoke came from the boot" and he suspected the boot lock motor was at fault so he removed the fuse. apon doing this he no long has central locking(suprise suprise) and also the windows do not go up or down unless you open the driver door. can anyone shed some light on the electrics of these machines as i havent worked on them before. eg windows and locks are all controlled by an computer or something along those lines. also on an unrelated matter the orange dash km and service read out is not lighting up all the time. sometimes when i start the car it shows everything for a few moments other times just certain items and then other times nothing. When the sun shines on it you can see the what its meant to be saying. thanks for your help.
