  1. So my 330 popped up an error and has gone into limp mode.

P0339 which is the crank sensor, I've ordered a new one and will be fitting it tonight.

My normal OBDII scanner will only reset standard fault codes, will not reset DME and adaptations.

I've read that Limp mode requires a full DME Reset to get rid of, is there anyone in the Cambridge/Hams area other than Coombes Johnstone that has the proper BMW tool for this?

    Thanks

    Si

  2. The wife had a gold x-type 2.5v6 for a while, lovely car, reliable as for us despite reports about them being unreliable.

Heaps of power Ford/Mazda V6 but with Jag heads for more grunt, a seamless 5 speed auto box and sublime inside, leather/wood.

Grew out of it once we had another kid though....

The new F-Type is the Jag to get though!

  3. I have a full set of shocks/springs from my 330 that are surplus to my requirements.

No leaks and in great condition

Seem to still provide great dampening, only swapped them out to put Koni's and lowered springs in.

    Pickup from Cambridge

    $250 the set!

  4. Quick way would be to take a simple mould externally as MLM said.

Easy enough to do and wouldn't require cutting too much up.

I can't see it being too tricky to accomplish this, as its just a basic mould nothing more.

Alternatively, get a price from these peeps:

If it was converted to a cad file then it could be modified by the end user prior to manufacture, so a version for non m3's could be made perhaps?

  5. Send it to China, then the whole world can have a copy for $100 a piece!

With the right moulds, it could be made in basic gelcoated fibreglass or carbon etc depending on how much you'd want to spend.

I'd imagine it would need to be broken down into 4+ pieces to effectively mould the shell with the inner trumpets moulded separately obviously.

What model are we talking about here? E46?

  6. A virtually mint set of 17x8 5x120 rims complete with Bridgestone MY01 tyres 225/45/17, all have excellent tread at 5-6mm+

Very nice wheels, minor marks only.

Selling as I've just put 19's on my 330i

    Pickup is from Cambridge

    $500

This rim has minor kerbing, the remaining rims are all just about mint!

  7. Hi,

Simon here from Cambridge, just picked up a 2000/01 330i Manual Sedan in Topasblau :)

    Lovely condition with 130kms

Just chucked a set of 19x8.5 ET35 BBS's on it, looking at maybe an M3 bumper, a new muffler and possibly an intake as well as a little drop of say 30mm.

Pretty much all I'll probably do to it for now as it will be my car to ferry the kids around in.

I've had a few cars over the years, from Lotus 7's to Alfa Romeo's, to WRX's.

I do all my own spannering and I'm looking forward to working on this one :)
