  1. I've bought and sold cars through Turners and have always been happy with the outcome. Do remember that there are often additional costs to consider over and above the price at the fall of the hammer. E.g. On road costs for new imports etc.

Also I'd never own a 520.. You need 6 cylinders minimum! If you want fuel economy buy a smart car :P

  2. I will be very interested to see how well your wheels come up and what they cost to fix. My PG2s are in pretty good nick but I'd consider getting them refurbished at some stage in the future.

I'm hoping to make my E39 a little different from the pack with some more Hamann mods similar to the path you seem to be taking with your touring. I would also be interested in where you have purchased your Hamann mods so far and your Brembo BBK if you don't mind me asking?

    Cheers.

  3. Ok had a look at what I'm interested in and I'd like to know pricing on the following for a E39 motorsport if you can get them please?:

Hamann Rear boot spoiler (see pic 2 below)

Hamann Rear window spoiler (see pic 2 below)

Hamann Front spoiler (see pic 1 below)

Hamann Fog light incerts (see pic 1 below)

Hamann pedels (auto + dead pedel)

Anything else you might think I could be interested in.

    Many thanks.

    Cheers.

  4. Oh dear! :D

Along the lines of "delusional owners" here's a Hartge tuned 325i... that is "like alpina but better. hartge has done a great job with mags , suppension , exhaust and kit."

Yeah.... all I see is some wheels buddy.

Oh, and to the "Alpina" owner's credit.... he didn't say what the German was an enthusiast of! :D

What's up whith this guy? He's needs to get his story straight!

Quote 1: "selling up- as i have a new job in Auzzie starting in 3weeks"

Quote 2: "Selling as I've been given a van from my new job."

Quote 3: "Owner leaving to study overseas."

This is enough to make me steer well clear for a starter.

  5. Ok final update on this thread.

I used Autoparts Express to ship the wheels (thanks Brent). They cost 20+GST per wheel making a total of $90 for the 4 from Auckland to Wellington. Great value.

It took a couple of calls to get things sorted with them and they only ship from business to business (no private addresses).

Thanks all for the suggestions. Much appreciated. Cheers.

  6. Hi all

I'm in the process of purchasing some wheels & tires off a guy in Auckland and was wondering if anyone had shopped around as to the best price and service for getting large parts shipped around the country (to Wellingotn in this case). This will need to include any packaging etc. required at the AKLD end to protect them.

    Thanks.

  7. Hi Martyn

Nice new ride. You'll be pleased to get your touring at last. Welcome to the E39 club :D . I figure this can only be a good move for me as you'll become even more of an expert in E39's!

I have a mechanical warranty with http://janssenholdings.co.nz/. They have always paid out but insisted the part be shipped to Auckland before they agreed to replace it last time. Vijay dealt with them and said they seemed ok. Cost was about $1100 for 2 years with a service required annually to satisfy their conditions and I think $100 excess.

    Cheers

    Darren.
