I need both front struts for an E21 323i they are heaver than the 318 or 320. I don't need the springs brakes or hubs any thing considered Thanks.

Thanks, I do need the correct range so I can adjust it to suit a new guage. W

Hi all, small problem, anyone know what the ohms range of the fuel sender from an E21 323i is, any feedback or help much appreciated Wayne

Great choise of car. Without some major mods the E30 suspention will not fit. The main problem you will need to overcome is the heavy sway bar attached to the bottom arm. Any changes made in this area will effect the stearing and overall handling. You can get some uprated inserts which will give some small inprovments and stiffer springs will also help. For more than this you will need a frendly engineer and cash. Wayne Ps nolathane bushes are also helpfull.

Thanks for all the replies. I may go with cap screws as I will not take the head off but just replace each bolt one at a time. The head gasket is fine and has done less than an hour of running. the main reason being I cannot be sure it was torqued correctly. Wayne

hi guys can any one give me the correct torque settings for m20 head bolts and is it necessary to re torque after short running

I would love to help you out, but the pressure is on to run in the Targa in March and still so much to do. The entire fuel supply system was made with no expense spared, so to reproduce it would be very expensive. The throttle bodies can be sourced from Etchells race Parts in Tauranga and I believe Cast aliminium manifolds are available from the UK. hope that is of some help to you. W

They were coated @ Procoat in Auckland, www.procoat.co.nz W

You could be right, but they came off the E21 323i that we have, maybe they also are on the E30 323i version. You'd Probably know. W

I did a lot of research on the US forums where M20 engines are popular, and found that a well flowed and matched standard system was very hard to beat, in terms of performance. Mclaren and others spent a lot of dollars trying to up the performance of the M20 and only succeeded with small gains with there headers. A good web site is www.headersbyed.com We will probably build a stainless system at some time in the future but for now this will do. W

Yes we could use some help. why don't you jump in your wife's car (a BMW) and come up for a week and give us a hand. you probably would not get here in your counterfeit mini. I will give your all the instruction you need when you get here. W

Hi bro, as I remember I paid to ship the car for you so you could have the wheels, as for small dogs I'll put mine against yours any day. By the way you no longer belong on this forum as you now drive a mini. (but not a real one) W

Almost, the fuel line is made from 12mm 16 Gauge 316 seamless stainless steel tube with one High impact pressure joint just as it goes through the rear fire wall.It was not possible to make the entire length with all the bends in one piece and fit it in the car. However you could pound it with a 14 pound sledge hammer and not compromise the tube or the joint. W

Good call, I have been told about an early BMC one (Austin 1100 I think) which is brass, will chrome up well. But I have yet to investigate full. W

We have a HAWK ecu which is adjustable down to 128 RPM increments with live feed to a vdu if we need it. The down side is the Company, which is (was) in Aust. has gone belly up. Doesn't help the project much now. W

I am reliably informed that the powder coating will stand up to almost all heat the engine can produce except overheat so powder coating the block and sump red, was a great option for us. I spent many hours researching E21 performance mods in the US, and that is where most of my ideas came from. W

Yes we are using the original sub-frame and steering rack. The original wheels were steel so the Mags we have weigh no more then them, also we do not have a power steer setup but steering is still very easy lock to lock. W

The intake manifolds are my own design and work. After much reading and research of how similar modifications were arrived at in the USA, the magic number is 12 inches from valve face to the end of the trumpets. This will give good low down torque. The throttle bodies were purchased from Etchells race parts in Tauranga. W

The rotors are spigot-ed and cap screwed to the back of the hubs with 8 x M8 316 SS screws

Thanks for all the suggestions and help, the car is in Waihi and the AA do not go near there, and the nearest BMW service would be in Tauranga so not to sure if the owner will be happy to allow us to take it there. I will have a think about all the comments and make a new plan. Wayne
