Just had my car serviced at 53000klms i was told the front roters only had a couple of 1000s wear left in them so I had them replaced. Is 50000ks and average life for front roters on an auto? The brakes arn't as big as the 328 etc but Im still amazed how good it pulls up when needed.I was looking at replacing with slotted roters but I don't know if you get that much of an improvement for the extra coin.My thinking is it would just wear your pads down quicker.

I love just starting mine in the morning and hearing that lovely note that comes out of the exhaust as she fires up and being lowered on 19s and rear wheel drive its just brillant to drive on the back roads. Its the most fun Ive had with my clothes on! and its only a 323!I wouldnt mind trying a 330 M sport on the twisties to see if the performance difference is huge?I think the bigger brakes would be probably be the deciding factor not to mention the 50+housepower.Comming up with about 30K though at the moment is a bit of a problem.Maybe if I win the big Wens Lotto I can trade the aston on a new m3.

Hi Ray
Do you have an airbag for the centre of the steering wheel for a 2000 E46 door 323 ?
Also 2 rear arm rests in black and rear tail lights with the clear indicators housings? I also have tear in the leather gear cover surround on the auto that needs replacing?

My neice is looking for a e36 in good nic.For this sort of coin I would imagine she should get something straight and in good mechinical order.Shes 18 and wants something pref lowered and with mags. The moter wants to be stock shes not into speed but its got to look the part.318s are pretty common so someone out there must know of a good one.
Must be a 318 though as the insurance is cheaper.Drop me a email.
Cheers!

My Neice is after a e36 in good nick for about $7000.00
shes 18 and so something with mags and lowered would be cool but will look at anything as this can be done latter if needed.im not interested in buying rubbish so I hope someone here has something good.
had a look at a 318 in silver and had done 80000k ,took it to shersons autos and was told to stay away from it as someone had done a head gasket on it and had used some sort of silicon on the head.Apparently it can break off ,get into the oil system and kill the engine. There were a few other things that just looked amateur as well.So if you have a good clean car to sell let me know.

If you are wanting factory chrome exhaust tips, you can buy them from the dealer. They just slide on without any fuss.
Knowing BMW they will be really expensive! or really really expensive!!

Can someone tell me where I can get some exhaust tips for my E46 323?
I have Exhausted all avenues here in Tga.

When its wet I like to go down to the basement and make a bit of noise work on new material and fool around playing to CDs etc.Its great stress relief and its a great buzz.Just like Gleens paintings, you start off with nothing but a blank canvus and and idea and go from there.I find it very rewarding but frustrating to sometimes.

Well I picked up the car and ended up with something a bit different to what was specified.Ok.I finally went out and brought a system.
Mad soundz are having there stock take sale at the moment so there were some good bargins to be had.
4x 5.25 sound steam tarantula speakers 1x 12'' soundstream picasso sub plus toxic sound box.1x JVC 400 watt rms into 4 ohm mono amp . 1x panasonic head unit with sub control 3 rca"s out multi colour 4 x 50watt remote control ,ipod ready. Wiring harness and adapter panel all for $1207 .00 plus fitting came to $1450.
So I ended up paying abit more than a grand but hopefully it will sound good. Its been fitted next week so Ill let you know if it was money well spent.
They couldn't get the soundsteams to fit because the magnets on them were to big in the rear to fit in the lower front door panels and it turned out that the car has 6.5s front and rear which they thought was odd but I don't know.
So they fitted it out with Alpine STE 174Rs which have a thinner profile.
Overall Im really happy with the sound.Thev original nocia tweeters in the door pillars are good.
I think another jvc or fusion amp driving the fronts a bit harder would be good to give the speakers a bit more headroom and make it a bit clearer.

Bald eagle should go to Europe and get a job in the force there.I understand they drive Bma's in some countrys over there.Chasing crims in a m3 would be pretty cool! I can imagin driving a Holden all day would be as exciting as watching paint dry!

that is the front of both side skirts... they were packaged together and somthing must of landed on it....
Yeah probably a 200kilo Samoan having his lunch on it!
Is it insured ?

Do you hate going to the supermarket knowing theres are good chance you will come out and find a SUV either side of your ride and have new matching panel alterations in your doors.
Do you cruise around the parking lot looking for that perfect park that you think might keep your cars panels safe for another day.
I swear the dent docter has made a fortune out of me and Im sick of it.
I have come to the conclusion that I need to buy a dunger to drive about in town.
You wonder sometimes if people out there are just malichous because you have a nice car.
And what is it with tyre caps?Chrome tyre caps seem to be a magnet for stealing. The little #*::""kers are going to get the cap on my workboots up there arse if I can catch one of them.
If you saw someone dent the door on your ride would you ask them to cough up $80.00 to repair it?
I bet im not the only one that suffers this and there is probably some of you out there with some really hard luck stories to tell.
Do any of you go to extreme lengths to avoid this sort of thing happening or do you just take it on the chin and deal with it as its just the way it is?

Im going to play devils advocate and say they might look ok if you could show a virtual pic of them on the car.

Correct, it farked now though, all sloppy etc. Just add it to all the other dramas, four new tyres, one rebuilt shock, one fixed actuater and now one or maybe two swaybar links makes gregy a very poor person
Wait tell you get a Wife and Daughter then you will know about dramas and being poor.

What type of strut is it ? 3 bolt top mount type or a the "L" shaped bracket push strut mount type.
If your not too sure, tighten it till it bites then give it another half ish turn till it feels right.
sorry I've just added a strut brace to my e46 and I used this method ... and it still good after a week
you can always recheck it .
Mine is a AC Schnitzer style brace.
Quite interesting the difference it made, feels slightly more go cart. Mind you I'm running eibach sway bars and coil overs.
I brought the last remaining strut brace off mike so Im guessing its the same as yours.
I havn't received it yet.Expecting it next week on courier. Are you happy with yours?

I have just had the sensor mat replaced in my 2000 e46 $800.00 for original.Lucky I have a good warranty.
What kills them is people kneeling into the passenger seat when getting some thing out of the car.

Can any one tell me when fitting a strut brace what tourqe settings should be used on the tower nuts and if the original nuts can be used or should I use a larger diameter nut?

Thanks for the info!I had a weak looking hose replaced that feeds the heater and now when I pull out of the drive in the morning theres anti freeze on the floor and the low liqiud light comes on? Its not the new hose so it might be comming out a breather pipe somewhere?Maybe there is air in the system when they refulled the system?
