  3. looks good...very JDM!

what made you use that setup v's a traditional vertical mount?

i went v mount because the engine was set really far back in the engine bay and i like the concept and look. if done right can be way more affective than traditional way.

Any reason why you went for a CA18 rather than the usual SR20 conversion? Smaller/ Lighter/ Cheaper??? Ive heard they are still a very strong engine.

when i originally bought the car it had the CA in it. but i am happy with the CA , stronger iron block , cheaper to modifiy and only 15kg heavier than SR. a good head gasket is vital with the ca's thou also a bit more rev happy.

looking awsome man . it could be to early to tell but what power are you roughly looking at making

Aiming to make about 150kw at wheels.

    with a few more mods.

im stripping everything and have been looking at carbon bonnets and boots.

    thanks guys.

  5. so ive enquired about some coilovers for my 1984 318 e30 , and i get this in reply:

    ''hi mate

these coilovers come with a 2 year parts warranty

yes, the front coilovers have camber tops fitted.

be careful though, as there are two types of suspension that the E30 have.

6 cylinder suspension and 4 cylinder suspension. be sure you have the 6 cylinder suspension, otherwise these will not fit your car.

any other questions, please call me.''

could you guys shed some light on the differences if any , and how i would go about converting my current setup.

    thanks heaps.

  6. so some of you may have read my members rides thread , i own a bmw e30 with ca18det which is going to be a street/track drift project.

back to the point im looking at 15x8 wheels with a low offset and i found these cheap rims , now these arent the exact ones but i can get brand new ones for $64 us per rim.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...cTODAY.m238.lVI

im gonna stretch 195/50 on them , do u think they would look/fit/work ok?

im thinking of polishing the dish and powder coating insides black? or just leaving them white.

also ill make them fit!!!

    cheers.

  7. nice, ca18det good choice of engine, be a good skidder. what rear end areyou running (diff, axils etc)

using a 325is lsd and stantard axles , im wanting an upgrade thinkin either m3 rear or just 325 rear.

what are you using? also what is going to be your suspension setup? inc brakes.

    great build by the way.

keep your thread posted , its a good read.

    cheers

  8. not dynoed nor 1/4 times but guessing making bout 130 ish with t28 turbo, no drifting shots as of yet , im gettin some ideas on ideal suspension for it , any ideas , im thinking either c3 motorsport or ground control coilovers , but i would like to hear your ideas. gonna run some 15x8's stretched 195/50 low offset. cooler is gone and im thinking about water to air intercooler by pwr , reduce lag and no big front mount hanging down , gonna keep stock body kit , i dislike kits. got heaps of ideas, looking at stripping rear cabin and replacing with cage , strut braces etc.

also brake upgrades i want to keep 4x100 stud?

ideas muchly appreciated. are 325 brakes interchangable? its an 84 318i

    cheers boys
