Picked this pile of turds up for next to nothing, NZ New Facelift so has the angel eye headlamps. I wanted the CD changer out of it, so it came with a free car virtually..
Known faults:
- Gearbox won't select reverse and appears to be in limp mode - i.e won't change gears
- Running on 5 cylinders - possible coil
- Dash has several lights showing
- Requires crank angle sensor also
- Speedo doesn't work
Is this car worth saving or is it off to scrap? Battery has been replaced and apparently some of these faults arose afterwards..

This was back in 2014...
An incredibly average way to keep it. Good as a parts donor IMO being left like that.

Timing chain guides, gearbox, radiator, coil packs all done so far. Went with Milland again! Cheers.

VIN: WBAFB32020LN86392
I'm after a price on a waterpump for the above VIN. Can anyone help with pricing or point me in the right direction?
Cheers.

But really, what is the point in increasing the limit a measely 10kmh for a distance of less than 100km.
I'm for it. Anyone that's driven from Dunedin to Christchurch of some of the central South Island roads would have to agree.
Another equally annoying problem on our roads is for light trailers limited to 90kph. Personally I think it's more dangerous than operating at 100kph with a trailer.

The south america special was awesome.
As for where/when: link
Looking forward to the rest of the season.
Yup, all that carry on with the animosity was very accurate. They left a lot of gear behind. That Lotus in that condition would be big bucks here, it was ruined.

Won't be on kiwi tv for a bit but there's heaps of places online you can obtain it.
-
Hi Tim. Already sorted thanks mate. Got a reconditioned one for 3k.

BMW wouldn't make something dangerous like that, I personally wouldn't worry at all about it. Front airbags come out a lot further than side ones which is why you don't put kids in front seats I guess.
-
Just move to the South Island. Car theft still exists by don't think car jackings do. And no one is interested in bmws here. All about RfknB's!
Hmm, I'm not sure any of my cars have door locks or not. Must try them sometime. Nothing happens here, last event front page news was someone's letterbox got bowled over, mystery unsolved. Turned out to be a hoax.

Cool, thanks guys.

Is the old one beyond repair Clinton ?
Yep quoted $6100 to rebuild! Have had a quote for a 2nd hand one best price so far is $2k plus gst.

Howdy all. Anyone know of an E53 out there being wrecked? I'm after a gearbox for WBAFB32020LN86392 - if anyone could help drop me a PM or post here
Already have our Brent looking for one but thought I'd get extra attention by posting here.
Cheers.

Quick search CFC 363
First Rego in NZ 02 Sept 2004
NA15300
Assembled May 2004
M57N 2933cc
six speed manual
Production Code EJ92
No doubt one could obtain a build sheet for more info also was this the engine type that had swirl valve problems?
Personally the colour, wheels, trim, 11yr old put me off and the asking price but it is through a dealer.
I wouldn't get too carried away with the specs on CarJam. Half the time they're incorrect, this one for example the cc rating is wrong and it's not 4WD.
One of the better things about this car is that it has the proper 3 litre engine and not the older 2.9
Remapped gently would see around 200kw and 500nm plus.
Time to upgrade the 320d is it?
I'd love it, but just becoming too impractical now for us. I want that 4.6is but he's just not getting back to me. I'd say there's more too that engine knocking than it would appear.

It's been a while since I've seen a non M3 E46 for 20k - this one must have been hiding under a rock @ 70kms - F/L E46's with those wheels are the sh*t IMO.

I'd say the rust would be starting to cause infections and discomfort?
-
There's no doubt RUC hits the diesels in the pocket, but its still cheaper to run than my last two cars...
I do 650 kms a week and my 123D .
I've driven a remapped 123d and if I didn't have kids I'd own one amazing cars, power everywhere.
-
Yep, M3 would struggle on the Rainbow road and other places.
X5 makes sense for a family of 5 travelling and getting into the back country if that's your definition of a weekend toy. That's what we use ours for as well.
plus school bus and family car.
19's with HP road tyres were at times interesting on the rainbow road
20's on the 4.6is with flintstones tyres on the back. Good gravel road but an M3 would just get nailed. Also need the space of a big boot the X5 offers.
-
Just buy jarreds four door e36 m3, perfect family car!
Nah, it wouldn't agree with the gravel roads and river crossings at our other house and besides, they're too small for us as a whanau
Rather clean E30..

It wouldn't pull a pirate out of a whore house I know but it's still a minter
