  1. Cool thanks I might get in touch soon.

I also did not overlook the 1m. They look like fantastic predecessors to the 2. They are almost something to lock away and Keep the kms  off with only 1500 made – where is for me I’m looking for something as a car that I can put some real miles on and enjoy.

  2. Hi. Wanting some expert advice.

In 2016 I imported a manual M4 from UK, as there were none in the country. After owning Porsches for a few years I have an urge for another M car in manual!

But I want an M2 manual this time. Only spent a few days looking but no manuals for sale. Do they ever come up for sale here? When was the last one for sale? Or anyone know of one to sell?

As much as I think I’ll end up buying a DCT, thought I would see if any manuals out there.

  3. she started this auction as an M3, with no photos and a $5k start price. Thats when the questions started rolling in. When she realised the mistake she changed the auction to say MS. And the questions kept rollin'

talk about feeling the wrath for miscrediting an M3. I think she has learnt her lesson!

  4. =D The car turned out to be f**ked. got a bmw check and they said to stay away unless i wanna spend 5k to fix the thing up. I will feel sorry to the person that buys it.

hey im looking at buying an m3 soon, possiby an e36, sounds like these guys knew their stuff. Can you tell me who they are for when I need a check?

  5. Is anyone going to put a tender on one of the old crown BMW 730LD's.

They all seem to be 2008 models ranging from 66 to 99,000km. If you ask me they had at least another 100km each to go in ministerial service.

What do you think these are worth compared to similar ones on trademe.?

Also, is there much differnce getting a COF versus a WOF, or is that just the diesel equivialant?

  6. I think the only real way to see if you like A. an m3 B. An SMG C. A Vert.is to drive it.

Having driven SMG's and vert's and M3's of this age (but never the combo of all 3 at once) heres what I reckon.

The convertible is the biggest consideration over a coupe. Lacking the stiffness of the upper bodyshell means they do scuttle, and this can be annoying, except on a smooth road. The extra weight they weld in to make it stiffer is also noticable. Saying that thought theres nothing like the feel of driving an open top along a country road on a hot summers day listening to that 6 hitting 7K. Saab verts are cool too, because you pump the seat warmers and can drop the top on cold mint nights too. Round town that rocks too.

The SMG is different to driving a manual and I kind of liked the theory of it, and could see it would grow on you, but found the upshifts slower than i wanted. Not sure about servicing them.

And of course the M3 part is the no brainer, everyone here wants one.

Personally a 3.2 manual coupe with sunroof would be my pick. But I imagine thats what everyone wants too.

Saying that I like the look of this too, and reckon it would be years of fun.

Adding a sport exhaust would also make that thing sound even sweeter with the top down...
