  1. I can't see anything but good coming from this - nice one Mr Key & co.

So there's going to be a few muppets crying over there squished pieces of crap - so what? Its not like they aren't going to have an opportunity to quit their anti-social BS antics before the crush - and it they don't figure it out then they probably never will.

I won't be rushing out to invest in a car crushing business any time soon, as I can't really see too many getting the squish....

  2. Totally agree with the thoughts Glenn. :)

Being a relative noob to Bimmers I've found the help and advice I have received from moderators and other members of this forum to be invaluable. I hate to think that these guys would pack it in because they get sick of putting out other peoples' flame wars and dealing with other BS.

Keep it clean, on topic, and these forums will be a great place to be.

    Cheers

  3. I had what sounds like the same problem this week in my e46 the click click noise when trying to start - it turned out to be a stuffed battery (which in turn stuffed the alternator).

I did manage to jump start the car - but if you can't get another car near it, being in the garage and all, maybe those portable jump units would be an option (could be expensive though).

  4. Glenn - I've checked that the new battery has been put in around the right way (its a Bosch DIN65) and its right. The warning light didn't come on before I replaced the battery - it stayed on after starting the engine once I replaced the battery.

I'd had a problem last week with the old battery - I charged it over the weekend and it seemed OK until this morning when it died while I was driving to work.

    Which fuses should I check?

    Cheers

  5. Guys got an issue starting my e46 - the ignnition comes on (radio works etc) however ther is just a clicking noise when I try starting the car.

I have jumped started the car and driven around for 20 minutes or so, but when I switch it off, it just clicks again.

Not sure if its the battery (flat or completely stuffed), or the altenator not charging the battery at all?

    Any thoughts?

    Cheers

  6. I've been in one crash, seen 3 others, and countless near misses from A*@holes running reds around Auckland. The crash cost $8,000 to repair and the biarch had no insurance (thats another problem they need o fix).

I'm not a huge fan of the big-brother-watching-you-mentality, but they need these cameras pretty much on every intersection on Ti Rakau drive - in my experience the worst piece of road for running reds in Auckland.

  7. Check the bulb wattage of the bulb and change the park light bulb (LLB501)

Or to be on the safe side change both bulbs. Its a common problem

Thanks - I'm pretty sure the indicator was a 21W - which is what its supposed to be. The park light I haven't checked - is it the same type? I'm guessing by the number above (LLB501) its different from the indicator.

Just checked the manual - looks like its a 5W.

  8. Welcome mate, car looks great. Your nickname wouldn't happen to be related to the iball newspaper would it?

No its a little more ordinary - logon name at work: 1st initial and first 4 letters of surname - too bad if your name was Fred Ucks.... :)

Hybrid - hmmm yes your probably right - leave it alone.

    Cheers

  9. Thanks for the feedback :)

Its all orginal - a factory Motorsport kit includes all the spoliers, side skirts, splitters, interior trim, lowering and firmer springs, and the 17" motorsport alloys.

I've got a mate with a 330 wagon with 18" M3 replicas - not sure if I should change or stick with the stock?

    Cheers
