I put it into a pot and boiled it and it opened, and yeah temp holds at halfway idling from cold for about 30 mins. Should I test the thermostat again? or maybe just take it out? But I'll give that other stuff a go. Cheers.

Yeah I've checked the thermostat and it works. And both hoses are getting hot (The bottom one takes a lot longer but once it gets hot the car is not far from overheating.) The heater doesn't work (could that have something to do with it?) I did replace the heater tap a while ago because the rubbers were swollen and it wasn't working, after which it worked again, but now it has stopped working again.

I have a 91 E36 318i and it is overheating. It will reach half way and sit there for about 15 mins (idling from cold) and then it starts to overheat so I'd say its not the thermostat, waterpump is fine too. The fans both seem to be working and I dont think the radiator is blocked. Could it be anything else short of the headgasket? It does loose water through a small hose but is overheating even with plenty of water. If anyone has any ideas that wud be appreciated. Cheers.

Oh ok, is that whole section the thermostat then? Because there seem to be two separate parts each of the hoses go in to, which are part of one bigger part.

Hey does anyone know where the thermostat on a 1991 E36 engine is? Is it the bit where the top radiator hose goes into the engine? Churr.

I have an E36 318i and the altinator is putting out 17 volts plus at random times which is getting more and more frequently, I may be wrong but it seems like it tends to do it after I have been on gravel as well. Does anyone know if there is some sort of regulator you can get or would I just be needing a new altinator? I probably need to do something soon though before I fry my battery:S

If anyone has one, would be very much appreciated!

Had a little accident recently involving going up a kerb and through a barrier which wasn't too fun:S But right after, I drove it, and everything was fine, then the next time I drove it again, I had lost all the guages, then it was fine again and then I lost the guages again and I haven't had them back and I also noticed that the wipers weren't working either. So I'm guessing something, somewhere has come loose...but where? Fuses are all ok, and a few of the dash warning lights are still working including the indicator arrows which flash but do not make that clicking sound. Any pointers towards where the problem might be would be appreciated thanks:)

Hose from Clutch master cylinder to slave cylinder needed!
FKat replied to FKat's topic in Want to buy
Ok, I think I may have found a wrecker that has the piece now but incase they don't I'll definately keep that in mind, Cheers! -
I have just done a manual conversion to my 318 E36 and have the old auto parts including the driveshaft, diff, gearbox, ECU etc. Gearbox will probably be needing a new torque converter though.

Any chance u wanna sell me the hose going from the clutch master cylinder to the slave cylinder? Is it a manual E36?

Hi there, do you know if the hose from the Clutch master cylinder to the slave cylinder would be the same as for an E36? Cheers.
