It's apparently not obvious to you Mr Toblerone & really that's no surprise to the rest of us following this thread ,but ownership does not an expert make.
And every time you have posted on this thread you have served to reinforce this!!

Then why does anyone consider the E34 to be a classic?
dude get a grip
the only classic e34 is the m5
the rest are just old tanks

Undoubtedly a very special mint example.....but it's not highly optioned.......it's not rare ....& it's def not worth $14k
And btw Mr toblerone I would suspect Jared has owned, driven, learnt more about BMWs than you've had farts......uneducated? I think not!

Sorry Jules but no e36 m3 will ever be a classicA stock E36 M3 Evo will be and I think well kept E36 verts ought to be (though like you, I'm not a huge fan of the coupe and four door shape) but getting hard to find any that haven't been horribly butchered by people with caps.
Simply...neither the looks or performance or production numbers meet any serious criteria for a classic

My brother has an 06 z4....yes it hard at low speeds but handles brilliantly at speed ,goes like a cut cat & sounds awesome under load.

Thanks Grant.....I'll check it outWrong! Pre & facelift starters are the same as far as operation. The F/L is a reduction type & therefore a smaller housing. Either will interchange with each other.
There is a difference between M20 & M10/M40 starters though.
As far as the electrics you mention, of the two small terminals (either push on or spade) - one is the solenoid activator, the starter wont operate if this not or wrongly connected. The second is an earth circuit for the unloader relay - this is the relay that allows accessories to operate. While cranking the circuit is nullified. If this wire is left off - these electrics wont work - unless the doors are open as you mention.
Andy... I owe u a starter haha

Is there a difference between fl & pfl starter motors?
And if so how do u tell the difference
Since we put the rebuilt motor in the schnitzer the windows only work with the doors open ,the heater fan, sunroof don't work at all.
The motor is basically pre facelift but the car is facelift.
Have been thro all the fuses & electrics.
When we did the motor we had to replace the round wire fittings with spade ones on the starter.
Have been told the starter can cause theses issues
Experts only please...ta
