  1. Hey guys up for sale/swaps is my 1986 E30 320i. Recently I have pulled the carpet out because it was getting wet and when I did I discovered quite a bit of rust. Apart from that its in pretty good nick and runs fine, ive never really had any problems with it. I took it for a warrant today and it failed as expected mostly because of the rust. I want to get rid of it because its gonna cost me a bit to get fixed and its not worth it to me, I dont need it for parts or anything.etc. I am being honest so you know what to expect if purchased. This car would be ideal for a parts car or for someone who could get panelbeating cheap.

Attached are some photos of the car and warrant sheet but if you want to ask any questions feel free. Comes with spare manual gearbox and kingspring superlow rears. Also carpet and the rest of interior is stored in the shed.

Im looking for $1000ono or looking for a hardtail mountainbike.

  3. Hey guys my e30 is starting to rust in quite a few spots and im wondering what to do. ive been quoted $700 for about half the rust so im wondering is it worth paying that much to repair it when i know im not gonna get it back when i eventually sell the car because there is also alot of other things that need fixing like cracked windscreen and front light, gearbox needs replacing which i already have and probly alot more for its next WOF.

If anyone has been in a situation like this some advice would be much appreciated. Im thinking about just parting out all the good stuff and getting rid of the body.

  4. hey guys i have just recently purchased a boss kit off jonvy auto accessories (brand name: hub sports) and it doesnt fit my E30. i brought one because my current bosskit is rangied up. its a normal boss kit but is missing the spline so it has half another boss kit bolted to it from behind that has the spline. i am wanting to change it because my horn wires are unable to go up through both of them and it feels and looks horrible. what i am wanting to know is has anyone else brought a boss kit off these guys and had it fit? and also if anyone knows where to get a kit that will fit. i have a momo steering wheel.

    cheers, mike

  5. hey guys i had some new front discs and and brake pads put in my e30 and now when the car is cold and when i turn left only the front left disc makes this very loud and horrible squealing/scraping sound untill i brake a few times or the car gets a bit warmer. i havent had a chance to take the wheel off and have a look but i was wondering if i could get any hints or advise as to why it does this. it never did with the old discs and pads in it.

  6. Yes.

Just get the years right for the waterpump.

PFL pump has an extra hole in it.

I assume you are looking at Pelican Parts? there is no 320i in the USA, but the M20B20 is the same basically.

Yea is it worth buying off them or somewhere else? Thanks for your help also

  7. Hey guys I want to do a service on my engine and want to order the parts off the net because they are cheaper. My problem is I can only find cambelts etc for 325i's when I have a 320i. Are all the belts, waterpumps, and seals universal and fit on the same engines.eg. m20b20 have the same parts as the m20b25?

  8. I had the same problem after i let a mate drive it. turns out the piece that goes from the bottom of the shift stick that goes to the back of the gearbox had snapped in half. at first the gears were really sloppy then eventually it broke altogether after about a week or so driving with it like that

  9. places i have found rust holes on the passenger side that have let water in. above loom through firewall, and where the bonnet release cable runs through the firewall and the water was running back down the cable into the footwell. have a quick look at those places

  10. I have recently come across some extra money and am looking into doing an engine conversion on my E30 but wondering if its worth it. I just took it for a warrant and it only failed on a tire although theres alot of rust developing (above the loom through the firewall, under the battery tray, along the drivers door, both jack points at the front) The hole above the loom lets water in when it rains 2 so I have the carpet out of the car at the moment.

Anyway Im just wondering if it is worth me getting all the rust fixed and going ahead with the conversion or is this gonna become an ongoing problem? If it continues I may aswell get the current rust fixed and sell it with a fresh WOF and REG. Only problem is I love my car and if I did sell it I would have to buy another E30.

Your opinions would help me alot, cheers guys

  11. I can recommend Terry's Panel Shop in New Plymouth, Looks like nothing when you go there but the guys workmanship is top stuff. I had shitloads of work done on my old ST220 Mondeo done there, I wanted it looking perfect and it did when they were finished with it.

Would go back in a heartbeat, They take alot of pride in there workmanship and do not charge the earth.

Thanks Braeden i'll check it out
