Welcome mate, nice to see another 7 around. -
Quality wise aftermarket ones are shocking. They will never line up perfectly like the OEM and you might even run into issues with your Control Check but do share info if you find a decent pair

Thought everyone would like a detailed pictures not some painful thumbnails. Thanks for your interest anyways.

I want an E39 540... but I'm a total BMW noob!

Have a read of this bud might shine some light on your situation. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=227948 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_M62 Personally i prefer the non-vanos unless you have the msport edition Get an authorized BMW agent to give the vehicle the once over and if possible buy warranty (Best thing i ever did). Being a BMW servicing/maintenance is put in higher regard compared to other vehicles (japa, aussie) as doing this will more or less guarantee a pain free life of your pride and joy. You will be surprised how sharp pricing is on servicing from dealers and piece of mind along with the usual bmw customer care involved. Valet etc. Oh and noting wrong with a jap imported 740i (my ride) as long as it low kms with proof and most importantly service receipts. Couldnt ask for much else from a vehicle or could you? -
Welcome and all the best on the hunt for your e30.

Dont go "Moron hunting" but dont wont the seller ripping off would be buyers by lies. And no cars arnt just cars we take pride on our motor vehicles as a hobby. Thanks for your input.

Im pretty certian it wouldnt be anyone from the forum as we all know fundamental specs of our pride and joy but this dudes a complete dousch bag i asked him about the engine chipping and "blow of vlave" (LOL) and he didnt know, his reply was """" off. Such morons out there shouldn't have access to luxury bruisers like a 7 series. Its a M60 4L motor and hes listed it as 4.4L. Should i report him to trademe for misleading representation in auction? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-229700793.htm Look at the ODO http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=+%09+BS...mp;search=Check

Would be very wise and peace of mind getting vehicle looked at from a bmw workshop. Doesnt cost much i think $140-$180 but they will critique the car like no body's business. This way you know exactly what you should expect. Major issue that i know of with E38 is the ball joints and suspension components can get dated and if not kept up-to-date can cost a bit. If you can get a mechanical warranty, best thing i did for my e38. Best of luck what kind of budget and specs are you after? Are you in Auckland?
