Hey ppl, what sort of mods do you have for air intake? Any reasonably priced kits I can buy?

Not really wanting to spend big bucks on afe, dinan, k&n etc. Found some brandless alum/chrome pipes with pod filters for cheap but are those any good?

Brandless junk = more dirt in your engine.

Pod filter = more heated air in your engine, less performance.

I once saw one exactly like this being washed at wash world with one of those horrible dirty car washing brushes, I was baffled at how someone could be so stupid to use one of those horrible things that has previously been used by 100s of people, on things like muddy 4x4s etc etc, I wouldn't be seen dead using one of those on my cars.

But a fair bit of mucking around for a small issue.

Problems arise, like working out a new way to pop the secondary bonnet release, probably through one of the grilles.

Just did a simulated change to indicate what I think would be quite a good change to the front end appearance of an E36.

The bonnet gap, annoys me more than anything regarding the design of the car.

If it was more like the E39 I think it would look 10x better.

Though it would require some extensive precise metal work to get it looking smooth and brackets to make the kidneys stay rigid and some splits in the lower trims and those tweaked to be fixed more securely.
