    Currently parts are stripped out, engine is sitting on the floor of our garage. Would prefer to sell complete but will part out if no interest.

    1988 BMW 325i M-spec

    Engine was good when it was pulled from the car, but unknown kms.

    Loom is still in the car, up to you to get it out!

    Gearbox is the manual getrag.

    Have most of the internal trim

    Got all the rare tech 2 (tech 2?) M-spec kit, colour is black.

    17" wheels with good tyres

    Some rust in the firewall has been repaired, also small patch to be repaired.

    Rego is on hold, plate live.

    PM me for pics of what it looked like before stipping.

    I was looking at the Black Schnitzer on trademe the same time as I bought mine.. very nice but mine had half the kms and was half the price of the black one. The bodykit is tempting though..

    Gonna do the suppension first though..

    Yeah that Schnitzer has been on for ages ......typical card yard way overpriced. One of the great mysteries of today's market is why these E38's are so undervalued ! I have had my 1998 advertised for a while and cannot get any interest whatsoever ......priced at $6600 just compare it with the Aussie crap selling for a lot more $$$.

    Anyway enough of my rant. I have done lots of investigating performance mods, and short of supercharging kits, there is little to improve on. Plenty of suspension options though, just be careful you don't ruin the ride in the process. They are super sensitive to any maladjustment in the suspension, front and rear. One thing I have done is disconnected the servotronic steering module ......dont know if yours has it ....it decreases assistance the faster you go. I just prefer a power set up which is constant throughout.

    Have a NZ new manual 1987 325i ...two owners .....no rust, no damage, leather recaros (excellent), ASB, sunroof (manual), electric windows ......completely unmolested and original and everything works. Have been thinking of selling but must admit love driving it, but is one of 3 bm's and 3 cars are really too many.

    But unfortunately as you can see I'm in Wellington.

    Looks awesome. Assume this is basically a facelift version of yours Murray. Someone will have a ball, but we just discovered that my 5 ft tall wife can't reach the pedals well enough in a manual E30, even with the leather Recaros, so it looks like it will either have to be an auto, or something more adjustable for us. Good luck with your sale.

    Yes it is more or less the facelift version of mine. No worries about things, I'll probably keep it anyway ..... an lsd would finish it off nicely ! I reckon in 5 years or so an unmolested manual 325i will be quite a rare beast.

    Have a 1987 manual 4 door NZ new E30 325i ........I am 2nd owner. Car is completely original and unmolested .....still a quick drive. No rust at all, no accident damage. Unfortunately not LSD., but ABS, manual sunroof, electric windows. Full leather with front recaros .......all in excellent condition. I've been thinking of selling for a little while, saw your post. Price wise not too sure ...... guess it is only worth what someone will pay.

    By the way I have driven the e28 535i as listed above ........ nice car in very good condition ....did have a slight miss though which the owner put down to lack of use.

    Hi people,

    Previously had an '86 E30 325i and a 93 E30 325i. About to sell off our Golf tdi because we no longer need to do huge ks for cheap and my wife has told me to get something more fun to drive, so I think another BM is in order.

    Currently looking for another NZ new E30 325i with a sunroof in good condition. Ideally a Motorsport, but I know these are as rare rocking horse manure, and if I can't get one, then at least a manual I can get a suspension package and an LSD for.

    Have a bunch of surplus parts for sale, buyer to pick up or arrange shipping for large items, otherwise I can post the smaller stuff at your cost.

    All this stuff is ONO just want it gone.

    Prefacelift 325i M20 block, with crank, pistons, rods all attached, no sump or oil pump attached. Was using a fair amount of oil before removal so I could assume it needs new rings atleast before reuse, good for parts. $50

    Prefacelift 325i Motronic 1.1 loom, complete, with ECU, injector loom, gearbox sensors etc etc $10

    Prefacelift M20 large SA radiator with metal end tanks. From memory was replaced by the previous owner of my car, so one would assume 4-5 years old, no leaks, has a few tiny scuffs, but works 100%, will throw in a good condition pre facelift expansion tank and sensor $80

    SA 325i metal airbox with filter, and prefacelift airflow meter $40

    OEM replacement M20 rubber engine mounts, near new $15

    1 x OEM E30 rubber gearknobs, mint condition $15

    Let us know if anything else needs pics, it is all relatively explanatory.

    Plenty more parts will be added over the next few weeks.

    Can possibly arrange shipping via Hans for the Auckland members.

    Block with crank, pistons etc all attached is free if anyone wants to pick it up...otherwise it is scrap metal

    I had this issue with my 320i went over all relays, got fuel, got spark etc. Turned out to be the Air Flow Meter, i was told the circuits are proned to failure in them causing bad connections and making the car hard/impossible to start. I got mine running without one by taking off the intake boot and leaving the afm connected. Cranked it over and it started ok. Just had vaccum leaks etc from the pipe hanging loose. Was about $80 for a replacement unit, well worth a go :)

    Had the same issue with my 320 - all it was was the rotor - replaced with a new one and problem solved .
