hey no problem glenn i meant to say if it is 10's of dollars than i would go for the bmw as that would not be expensive ive done some more research into the spare parts and they dont seem to be astronomically expensive think i mite go for it thanks for the help

so like your normal servicing charges and parts like break pads and oil filters, would they be in the 10's of dollars more or like 100's of dollars more expensive

Hey, I want to buy a BMW 318ti (1995) this will be my first car but my dad is against buying bmws as one his friends who supposedly knows a lot about cars said that spare parts are expensive (far more compared to japanese makes) and so are repairs for bmws. I wanted to know if this is true as there are so many 318s on trademe and turners and at car fairs. Any help will be greatly appreciated Thanks
