  1. Yes, I have had them fixed. Cost me an arm and a leg. I actually regret spending that money, because I could have sold the car at a lower price and the money I saved could have added up to the price I wanted for the car. Now I am pretty much giving the car away. All thanx to Petrol Prices.

  2. Hey ppl, I am selling my 325i because I am off to auz soon. I am not in a rush to sell her, as I still have a month to go to save up and sort some stuff out before I go. But it would be a good idea to get her on the market now, so I do not get desperate later on.

    The car:

    -1988 SA built 325i, Facelift

    -Diamond black

    -141kms on clock

    -automatic

    -black leather seats

    -on board computer-13 button

    -cruise control

    -Long range tank

    -sunroof

    -towbar

    AM parts:

-Munroe shocks-fitted by the previous owner and at BM workshop in East Tamaki

    -JVC cd player

    -Tints

    -brake pads

    -fuel pump

The car has been carefully maintained. I have always warmed it up before taking it out in the morning. I spoke to Ross at BM workshop and he has the car's mechanical service history. Ross has done the following work from what I remember,

-Munroe shocks fitted - $1000 bill just for the shocks and fitting

    -Inlet manifold replaced

    -AM brakes

    -AM fuel pump

Since I have bought the car, here is the list on what I have replaced:

    -thermostat

    -distributor coil

    -inlet gasket

    -front fogs fixed

-oil filter and new oil - 10w40

    -vaccum hose

I had all the work done at Reef's auto in Otahuhu.

The car has a current rego and I just took it to VTNZ for a wof. It has failed for the following reasons,

    -it needs new tyres

-tints are 29% - they need to be 35% to pass.

I will replace the tyres with brand new ones and get a new wof for the new owner.

The body is in excellent condition. It has a couple of chips but no dents. I polish and wax it on a regular basis. The interior is in good condition. The leather seats are showing their age. The dash does have cracks, but the previous owner has a cover fitted to hide them. The right rear window switch is not working. The cruise control is not working as well. It might need a new relay. Also, the radio aerial/mast is broken. Front lip is missing as well.

Consumption according to the OBC averages to about 8L per 100km.

    Price: $3700

Text me on 021 1460059 anytime.

I would prefer selling her to someone who is interested in restoring these cars. It would make a great weekend car, excellent for long trips. I drove it to Hamilton and back and cost me $50 dollars on gas. The trip was 300kms. I have been running the car on 96 octane.

I am free in the weekends and the car is located in Auckland. I would not mind driving it down as far as Wellington for delivery as long as the gas is paid for.

  3. Hey man, go to Reef's automotive in Otahuhu. I think it no. 91 on station rd. The two brothers that own it have a lot of experience with all sorts of cars and are honest blokes. I took my BMW there as I got referred by someone else. Pretty cheap compared to so called 'specialists'. Tel no. is 2766446.

  4. Update:

I had a chat with a mate, who happened to know a mechanic who has experience on working on BMWs. He is gonna fix the car for $900.

I will be bumping up the price of the car to $3800 when she is fixed up.

The car is getting fixed on monday. If anyone is interested in buying the car as is, please contact me asap before my mechanic orders the parts.

  5. For Sale: 1988 325i F/L SA built

    140k

    4-door

    Diamond Black

    auto

    sunroof

    leather

    long range tank

    On board trip computer

    Current wof and rego

I have just got it checked out from Botany Motor Worx.

There are a few things wrong with.

It has a leak in the inlet Manifold

O ring is needed for the thermostat

It needs a new Distributor and the coil. The car is not idling properly because of this.

    Front Fogs don't work

Rear Right window switch doesn't work

Radio antenna has snapped. The motor still works.

    Cruise Control doesn't work

The bill has come to $1200 ( Botany Motor Worx ). This includes servicing of the car, parts and labour ( $75/hr )

I am thinking of getting all this fixed, but if someone wants to buy the car as is, please make me an offer. I have to sell the car as I am planning on going overseas soon.

  6. I wanted to fill up the other day when I was returning from the movies in botany. I went into Gull and filled up on $50 98 (biofuel). It contains 10% ethanol. Since then, my car has been playing up big time during idling. I tried putting mobil 95 in but it made no difference. I am taking the car to botanymotorworx friday morning to get it checked out.

It might or not be the petrol that started the problem. Still, I wouldn't try that stuff again.

  7. I remember you selling this car at the start of the year. Man the price the petrol is really hurting their value. I have a e30 325i that I am planning to sell soon as I will be moving overseas. I am really worried what I will get for her.
