  1. Spotted this at the petrol station about 10 minutes ago. I had to wait to get to the pump while the forecourt guy helped him push it to a park as it would not start. The guy went next door to get a mechanic to take a look. They got it started pretty quick, but it sounded really rough. You would want a pretty thorough check before contemplating buying.

  2. I still clearly remember meeting Jas and going around Puke with him on a sponsors day when he was teamed up with Brett Riley in the Lyall Williams BMW team in the earlier part of the 90's. His love of motor sport was infectious. The guy never stopped smiling. A mark on his life, he was always so happy to be a part of motor sport and life itself. My thoughts are with his family and friends, why are the great ones so often cut down so young.

  3. Hi Dylan,

Sadly the 635csi photographed is not as tidy in the flesh. This car however was in like new condition 10 years ago. It was owned by a friend of mine who is the ultiimate car enthusiast (who owns a stellar E39 M5 now) and when he owned it was like in showroon condition- yet had 100, 000kms on the clock. This thing has now been neglected - reflected in the shabby drivers seat, grazed wheels, and bumpers that have taken a knock. Sad to see one of the best examples of a 635 in the country back then deteroriate. That is why it is still sitting there for sale.

Believe it or not my old burgundy 635 Highline last week sold at Giltraps for near what they wanted ( $27k!!). Showing that a mint car, despite having 220kms on the clock can still command relatively big dollars.

Hey SS, out with the kids last night for Trick or Treat and guess what? Hi Line now lives a couple of houses away from me.

  4. Max, they used to get spammed a lot from overseas so they have blocked Gmail. Hotmail etc is still okay (stand to be corrected). Can't go wrong with some of the NAD stuff from the last 5 years or so. As this is a BMW forum I think we should leave all debate re where to spend the most money ie: speakers, power amp etc.

  5. Definitely check out www.audioenz.co.nz/forums

The members will give you plenty of advice. Post a thread in the "General" section and you will get a ton of replys. Make sure you give an idea of budget but also what types of music you listen to. They have a for sale section and TM section which often has great stuff at second hand prices.

Completely agree about what can be achieved with head phones versus speakers and bang for buck, but it is never quite the same as speakers.

BM ownership feels pretty economical in comparison to some of the systems that the members have. Good luck.

  6. Spotted this morning on Northern Motorway heading into city a white M535i. YZ5166. Very nice with M stripes along the sides. Strangely my wife who was a few cars ahead of me in the traffic phoned me to say "Hey have you seen that BMW, that used to be my Father's when I was a kid". She had never mentioned her father's connection to BMW's before that.

Sexy pre fl e30 325 cabrio this morning, plate KABRIO i think.

Also saw this thismorning as i was driving to work. looked so mint!

That would be mine. Depending on where you saw me there was probably a three year old with the rear window down waiving at traffic.

  8. That is interesting, I didn't think the UK parent company would let the NZ mag fail. But maybe they looked at the numbers and thought the only readers were those who previously bought the UK mag.

The lack of refund is a bit rubbish. I was tempted to subscribe, but never got around to it. How many issues do they owe you?

Sadly around 9. My wife organised the sub at the time they were giving away the Peter Brock book with new subscribers. Mind you still haven't got around to reading it.

I also quite like Evo but I try to not buy that and Car in the same month as they often carry reviews on the same cars and have the same latest info.

  9. Crockett I had a subscription to it. They sent out a letter saying basically that they were looking at restructuring the NZ company and as a result would not be publishing any new copies until further notice. They also said if you want a refund contact us and we will arrange. Sadly after multiple attempts to contact them to get my money back I am still out of pocket.

I had previously bought the UK version which I am now having to do again.
