Hi everyone, I am due for a service on my car. It is the second major service where you gotta change spark plugs, brake fluids and all other fluids. I have attached the pdf that i got from BMW. Can you please tell me should I get the service done from BMW or an authorized service workshop? I live in Wellington. and if i dont get it done by BMW, who is good and reasonably priced in Wellington? I was told by BMW that the service will be around $700-$750. Thanks for your help. Sorry...your images need to be reduced to at least 800 x 600. Please resize & repost

Sound System for BMW 2004 318i

Hi Rogan, Thanks for that. My budget is around $1000, i can spend little bit more if its worth it. I don't want huge bass or sound or anything. I will be using the car as my company car and will be driving a lot, so need something better than factory standard stereo. I want 1 good quality 4 channel amp, a 12" or may be 15" sub, I have bought a Panasonic stereo and I have 6X9 Panasonic speakers. So I may need better front speakers. I think it can be done under $1000??? Thanks for your help. -
Hi everyone, I have a 2004 318i and looking to upgrade the sound system. I am looking to buy a decent head unit with Bluetooth and all that. What I need help with is what amp and sub to buy? I need bit of grunt but not spending too much. I amp I am looking at is PowerPlant 4 Channel Amplifier, PP-AM120040. I can get it for About $400 off Trademe. or Pioneer PRS-D4000F, the Pioneer is used and about $50 cheaper. What sort of sub woofer should I buy to go with these amps? I already have decent 6X9 I bought a while ago but after reading sticky topics here, I may just go with the original BMW ones. The biggest questions is that I live in Wellington and who should I get it installed from? Someone who is good and charges genuine. Have a lots of friends who have worked on my older cars but BMW looks very complex. So I want to get it done professionally. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Amit

Hi there, I have 2004 BMW 318i M. From a few days I am getting this warning light. Its bit hard to explain what it looks like but I will give it a shot. Its a warning light left to trip meter. Whole car lights up with headlight next to it. But when I turn on my headlights the warning sign goes away. Not sure if it a faulty sensor or something is wrong. If I haven't explained it well, please tell me and i will try to take a photo and upload it here. Thanks for your help Amit

Hi all the thing is that both the cars look exactly the same. the only difference is the kms. I am really confused. I can spend extra money but if the other car is gonna be the same, should I? The dealer is giving me the 3 year mechanical warranty for $640.

Thanks a lot for your quick reply guys. I booked my flights from wellington to Auckland yesterday as I made up my mind on buying the cheaper one. I just couldn't decide but now I think its best to spend a little bit more now and not regret later. What is a good place to buy a mechanical warranty for the car? The dealer was offering me the warranty for $640 for 3 years. Thanks again

Hi all, I am looking to get a 2004 318i M spec. There are 2 I like. 1st is a private sale with 76,000Kms and the guy is asking $18,000. 2nd is at a dealer in Auckland with 120,000 kms and he is asking $16,000. Both cars are M spec and grey colour. I don't ever want to buy from a dealer but looks like a good deal at the dealers. I am really confused. Should I pay $2,000 for low mileage. Both cars are NZ new with full service history. Any help will be appreciated. Both images are in the order I have described the cars.
