  1. had a bit of a look at a few things today,

    a/c switch is stuffed,

    cleaned the connectors on the cluster odometer still doesn't work, so i think i will get another one.

    on the back of the cluster there is a large green connector block, with multiple ports, does anyone know what all these ports do and which plugs go where on it, I want to much sure they in the right place, supposedly the previous owner changed it.


  2. cheers guys, just noticed that the right hand light assembly is fecked, they seem to just flop around, going to look at the cluster on the weekend to see whats wrong.

    took the cover under the steering wheel and there are a bunch of connectors that are just hanging there, god knows where they go.

    Anyone know if the A/c button should hold in?

    also the central locking is poo'd too, so got to work that out too


  3. That link is for a Left hand drive car i think so you are looking at the right relay, the big one under the speaker. Take the cover off it and there is a soldered link on one corner. Like two little verticals soldered together. One is under tension so when that blows the two separate. If that is blown fix or replace. Check any swapped units first. If it keeps blowing you have a problem elsewhere.

    Check that pin plug in your door jamb too, can be tricky to unplug. If fiddling with the pin plug is generating some action in that relay sounds like your plug is dirty or defective.

    I found the best way was to grap the tab in the centre of the plug with pliers, release to two side tabs then carefully pull it out. The little pins in there get all coroded etc.

    I would also be looking at your actual lock, There are some easy links to find for "E30 door lock repair" showing how the lock comes out and how the dealock mechanism works. Were you unable to open the drivers door with key? Does the ley turn or what?

    hey, i think i might have a similar problem, what fuse is for the central locking? Mine doesnt work but i can still lock and unlock with a key.

    1rotty do you have any head lights for a fl, a rear left door(does is have chrome trim?), an interior front passenger door lever in black and maybe a full working cluster?

  5. Hey all, just picked up my first E30, drove it all the way down from Auckland to Masterton.

    Any way as i was driving down noticed a few thing wrong that the previous owner didn't tell me,

    firstly the odometer doesn't work, fuel gauge doesn't read right (half way is Empty), brake lining light is on, cluster lights very dull/not working, head light beams are a mess.

    i had a mate have a quick look at it before i fly up, but he didn't notice it, I think i may have brought a lemon.

    can anyone help?

    Lot of coin, but its awesome. The CNC work etc blows anything else if seen out of the water, and its a proper blower, not one of those centrifugal toys :P

  7. My sc'd m20b25 is hella fun. Always want to go faster though. Using a wee toyota sc14 roots charger. If I did it again I'd chuck an eaton in as suggested above, but they take up lots of room.

    Hey bravo, how much did your sc14 setup cost? does anyone know how much a suitable eaton setup would cost? I found this website that has a bit of info on factory Supercharges that are found Toyota and Subaru etc

    From what I read on there, that the SC12 and SC14 make roughly the same KW but the SC14 wasn’t equipped with an intercooler.

    I pick up My first E30 this sat from Aucks and will be very interested in SC'n it in the near future, after i get a manual conversion done
