  1. Hi team. I'm regretting that I'm considering this, but I'm thinking of parting ways with my 1971 2002 project.

I've had this for almost 8 years. Had big plans to run this as a street legal track car, but financially my situation has changed.

Rego is dead, but I do have the original plates.

    Here's what's included:

    • All panels and trim
    • Fibreglass rear bumper
    • New repair panel for the lower front nose section
    • E21 323i rear trailing arms (for rear brake caliper conversion)
    • Volvo 240 front brake calipers (for vented disks conversion)

I have a M20B25 with an 885 head and all the parts to convert it to a 2.8ltr stroker. This includes a M52B28 2.8ltr crank from a 328i, 130mm conrods from a M20B20, clutch, flywheel, M20B25 pistons and 885 head as well as a 5 speed Getrag 245. Also have engine mounts to mount this to the standard 2002 subframe.

Included are a set of Minilite style BMW wheels and a set of gold steel wheels (not pictured).

    Here's what's left to do:

    • Sills have rust holes on both sides, front and back.
    • Assemble engine
    • Finish e21 rear trailing arms to suit coilovers
    • Panel work on the main body

Here's how it looked when I picked it up.

    Here's how it looks now.

I would ideally like $14,000 for everything. Not keen to sell items individually.

Please PM me if your genuinely interested.

  2. Hey team, I'm looking for recommendations for an engine builder who can put together a M20B25 2.7ltr stroker, preferably in the North Island.

I have the engine all in bits (minus a few of the ancillary bits eg. water pump, fuel rail, etc) as well as all the components to make it 2.7ltr (conrods from a m20b20, crank from a 2.8ltr m52, etc). I have no idea how to competently put it together.

Going to use this in my '71 2002.

  3. Just went to have a look at this hoping for it to be run down so I wouldn't feel bad about making it my next project, but it was so tidy. Great example those photos dont do it justice at all

Thanks for the kind words man! I was originally looking at it and thinking of turning it into a bit of a project too.. But couldn't bring myself to doing anything with it. I think they're going to put it up on Trademe real soon

  4. I want the manual bits! Dammit. GLWS!

Cheers mate! I was keen on the manual bits too for my m20b25 2002 project but unfortunately it's too nice of a car to part out. Buy this and flick yours on!?

Anyways, what does everyone think this is honestly worth? We're going to put this up on TM next week if no one from here is keen.

  5. Hi all, I'm selling a 1987 E28 525e on behalf of the owner in Napier, Hawke's Bay.

    • Sunroof
    • Central locking
    • Power mirrors
    • Tool kit in boot (missing a socket)

They'd like to let it go for $4,000. However they're open to offers so please PM me.
