ok so gotbattery tested today wen our electrician contractor came into wrk and he said battey is fried and just holding enough for car to turn over so im picking up a new battery tomorrow or friday , sadly the m3 mirrors are no longer available for me to buy off my friend also

ok so little update

i may just have some m3 mirrors to fit on to the car which will look great, and a bmw bonnet badge genuine ofc! to get rid of the Ac schnitzer bage haha

on the negative news looks like ill have to buy a new battery as the current one isnt holding charge very well or the alternator is playing up hopefuly thats not the case, and also this weekend an oil change oil filter and air filter and spark plug change to get her running mint!

cheers guys ill keep updating throughout my ownership of the car after the meet i gave the car a full cut and polish the differencewas mental but i wasnt using a good cutting compound so willbe re doing it with the 3m stuff we have at work hopefully it will be even better

Ok so i was at the meet today which inspired me to make a thread for my new car

So yesterday the 4/07/2015 i bought a new bmw after selling my vw golf mk3 gti the night before, so i upgraded to a 328i motorsport nz new e36 wagon thats done 210ks and been well looked after.

its automatic which im fine with for now allways being in traffic on my way to work but i do for see a manual conversion coming in the future!

the only defaults i can find are a few scratches few shopping trolley dents and a thin layer of clear coat which i can fix being a spraypainting apprentice, other than this the car is great condition for its age same year i was born!

so without further adue i bring to you my wagon

Alright so today I went and got my muffler from Mr G's Auto in manurewa, great shop! And I went and got it weilded on for $120.00 dollars, here is some photos!

Been a while so here is just an update when i was driving back up from New Plymouth two weeks ago or so i managed to get myself in a little trouble with the Police and ended up getting a $120.00 dollar fine and 20 de merits going 118 in a 100. So that wasnt good ahha but now onto the car!

I have just been lookingfor mufflers at the moment and will be getting one installed hopefully this weekend or next week, so it will sound a little nicer.

I also am desperately looking for lowering springs for the car 4cyl ones! so if you have any sell me them!!!!

Also some roof racks!!!!!

i feel the picture would look more... centered/balanced if the car was facing the other way. like the nose in the centre of the photo. also the car just blurs into the background being grey. how come you changed the car colour? would look better if was contrasted a bit maybe. otherwise pretty cool.

Can you post a pic of the invoice for the repairs to the oil leak and coolant leak?

Would be interesting to see what was replaced and what wasnt.

Oil leaks are very common on our n42 and n46 engines.

Coolant system failures are common for just about all bmw's.

The posters on here are very knowledgeable and can point you in the right direction as far as preventing future oil or coolant leaks.

If you were to save up a bit you could possibly consider a Manual trans swap at HellBM - drive in/drive out. Prices for the swaps are lower than you'd think

I was going to buy that bonnet to immediately re-sell it for double the price, didn't wake up in time.

My problem with it is the vents on the front slope downwards towards the engine bay - Don't really want too much water in the bay.

Looking good so far, I for one can't stand the orange indicators (mine has smoked sides and clear fronts, which i need to change to smoked), as they look dated to me, but that's just my opinion.

Some new shoes will be good, I'd also suggest plasti-dipping your front kidney grilles black to match your window trims etc.

Ignore this - OEM tape deck is ugly and useless.

I think the bonnet would look grand with some aftermarket 19' rims and tinted windows!

Cheers bro hopefully, will be picking up my car today and paying the bill urghh they called me up saying around 1000 dollars to fix, I would of tried fixing oil leak myself but im very bysy with exams coming up and sport I figured its best to get a qualufied mechanic to do and then I shouldn't have to worry about it for a while and as to the coolant leak ild be dammed I looked to fibd the leak but had no luck at all that was a mystery to me, another reason I am paying as in 3 weeks im going to be driving down to new Plymouth so I also want to make sure it all is 100%.

Next mod I possibly will spray break calibers orange MAYBE as I like the orange a blue theme haha

Cheers for everyones opinions greatly noted the car is currently getting fixed for a major oil leak and collant leak which wasn't covered by the warranty so thats taken 1k out of my spending and hurt my wallet, I have been given a rental car a mercedes e200 1995 to drive around in very different in comparison but a good difference ahah.

In regards to the indicators I do agree with keeping the orange ones for some reason I do like them alot brings a colour scheme to the car blue and orange rather than blue and white haha but I feel this way probably because I haven't seen any different indicators on my car.

And as to the bonnet I never really liked it initially and only purchased it because of its rariety and cheap price! As the weeks gone I must shamefully admit it is growing upon me and have found lots of people love it or out right hate it I guess it is one of those things that comes down personal preference, either way im going to leave it on for a while mostly because I do not want to go through taking another bonnet off again by myself like I did too put it on

Cheers guys keep the opions coming just keep in mind low budget and cant afford great expensive mods

The head unit looks a bit cheap. You have bought a premium car and OEM always looks best in these.

the head unit was cheap if you read the start im a student on a low budget doing little modifications

yeah i feel the same been driving it round today and had about 4 compliments because of it so other must think its nice. ahha i guess you have gotta see it in person every minute im growing to love it more
