You have to space the rear ABS sensors on the compact when you fit the E30 axles with the medium case diff. The outer Cv's are larger..... I've done this on mine & it all works fine. You may have damaged the sensor ring on the joint by fitting the sensors without a spacer
I suspect I have damaged it... is the sensor ring removable?
I still have old axles... could I swap ring?

Scan it to see what fault comes up
Can I scan it with OBD scanner?

I've put an M52B28 into my E36 Compact.
The ABS is not working
I have replace the diff and axles with medium case out of E30 325
When I fitted the axles there was a significant rubbing on the left side ABS sensor and the ABS didn't work.
I replaced the sensor with one I had from a sedan
I thought the issue was the instrument cluster from the 6 Cylinder donor car didn't power ABS but even with 4 Cylinder cluster in the ABS light comes on as soon as I start driving. And the ABS definitely isn't working (as discovered on a very wet Taupo track today!)
Any ideas?
Could the rubbing on the axle have damaged the axle so that the sensor can't read correctly?

Went to Taupo racetrack and watch the rain fall.... did about a dozen laps but had no traction... even straight line driving was scary!!

Thanks... I see the one on TM. Just seeing if there are other options out there at a better price

Did you have to recode anything when you did the engine swap?. Although an e46 I used the original cluster and had no problems when the engine was changed from the N42 B18 to the M54b25. As Brent mentioned the 4 cylinder clusters can be tweaked to suit.
No recoding. Just swapped ECU and EWS.
I know they can be tweaked... just want to know how I can do it myself if possible

I'm wondering if someone can help me.
I've transplanted my m52b28 from my E36 328i into an E36 318ti
The issue I have is:
- if I use instrument cluster from 328i the ABS won't work
-if I use the cluster from the ti the Tacho reads wrong thinking there is a 4 cylinder engine in place
so
Is there a way to get the tacho to read right on the ti cluster? or
is there a way to get the ABS to work on the 328i cluster?
thanks

Hi Marc
Not sure if you're sorted yet but I have a light coloured head lining in good condition out of E36 328 sedan. Also have heater control valve and window liner. I have climate control unit but looks a little different from your pic.

I've got a diff out of a E30 325 in my 2.8 powered E36 318ti and wonder if anyone has a limited slip centre for it.
-
Yep, I'd be interested in the 325 ones

What is it out of?
Any idea how many K's?
Seals ok?
Lots of questions :-)

I'm after a medium case diff... ideally 3.64 for E30.
Also need axles as well

I have a pair of axles but only 1 has the abs sensor ring.
I'm not sure if the rings are removable but I'm happy to swap the axle I have without a sensor ring for one with a sensor ring. Or just buy a ring if they are removable.
