I ran over a bottle last night in my 540 and rooted the rear left tyre. Its a shame because the other 3 direzza dz101's are at 6mm tread%. Anyone bought a good value sporty tyre 235/45/17 they can recommend. Hoping to spend around 350 for pair as the car is for sale. Cheers Mark

With the cold weather my original 540i battery is struggling to turn the v8 over. Any advice on who does a cheaper repo model that fits?

It is 2.93 at the moment. What are the 3.45 's like, it must get off the mark pretty well. If the speedo works off the wheel sensors all good I imagine. Glenn did you need to take the exhaust off to get at the pumpkin? I agree I need to research this properly not to stuff up other things on the car. I may have to post on the uk bimmersport site. I come from a musclecar background and all drivechain stuff was really easy.

Gidday, I recently bought a 98 540i. I really wanted a motorsport version but they were out of my price range. The motorsport has a lower ratio rear end and I think the standard 540i is crying out for this. Has anyone done this modification, potentially it could be a nightmare. I would like to know what other things need to be changed as well as the diffhead. Cheers Mark
