  1. I'm just posting my experience dealing with Vodafone which it has  been horrible to say the least, this could well be on the rant thread.

The reason why I'm posting this is because they get away with way too much
We have broadband in my flat and I used to have a mobile plan with them so I have a fair bit of experience dealing with them.
Things I hate about them, I've been in the phone for 40 minutes in back to back calls, I've been transferred around 5 different departments and stuff still don't get fixed and then they tell you they do. And a week later nothing happens and you have to get in the phone for another hour and go through every single department.

So the other I decided I had enough and I changed my mobile to skinny and man what a difference. I pay the same which is $30 but I get three times more data 3gb.
And Skinny telephone service.. so much better! haha.
It does seem a bit of an advertisement but just wanted to tell other people if you are fed up with vodafone or spark if its the case there's other companies out there with good products as well. Skinny uses sparks network I believe.

  2. Hi community,

I'm posting this because I recently bought a 318 e30 and I was wondering how to squeeze an extra hp from here and there. And I was thinking to raise the compression. I think these cars came with about 9:1 compression and I was thinking to get up to 10-10.5:1 if possible.

    Has anyone done this before??.

    Cheers

Call and talk to your preferred shipping company. They would be able to tell you want the back up plan is if there is one.

Yeah I'm leaning to ship the car because of limited time.

I don't have a prefferred shipping company because I haven't use one on the past but the cheapest I got so far was just under $700 is that any good?

  4. Hi guys I'm happy to announce I bought my first e30!.

It's a 89 four door one, the exterior is in alright condition so is the engine and the interior has seen better days but nothing too bad. I'll post more pictures when I have it and I'll try to make it to a meeting.
The small problem is I bought it in Christchurch days before the earthquake and I was planning to drive it up to Auckland but now I'm having second thoughts and thinking to ship it.

I was wondering if any of you is living in the South Island more specifically North Canterbury/Malborough and knows what the condition of the highway is.

And anyone that has shipped their car from Christchurch to Auckland and what prices I should be looking?.

    Cheers guys,
    Alberto

Picked up the new E30. Cruised home w/ electric sunroof open, cruise control on. Still need to figure out the OBC, and I think the A/C works...

    Life is choice.

May I ask where did you get such a cheap e30?. I'm looking for a good deal too but nothing even close to 1200

  6. Cheers for the replies guys, very informative. I don't mind to work in the car myself so if I find a good one I'll go for it. I'm not really fuzzed of the condition of the car as long as it runs properly, in the future I'll be more inclined to start tinkering with it but at the moment I'll just try to keep it running and get from A to B.
Thanks for the Taupo invite but my wife is not particularly happy about me buying another car and she probably wouldn't appreciate me living her with our boy to see more cars! haha.

  7. Hi guys, I'm new in this forum and I'm considering getting an e30, I always loved these since I was a kid and their boxy look and I'm in the process of getting a DD. I've been looking at e30's and I see I can get a hold of one for not too much money.

But the thing that scares me a bit is I know they will initially require some money to get it to good condition but are they the sort of car that no matter what you are always spending money on it?.

So my question is, even if i get something somewhat in decent condition. how much do you guys reckon is needed to bring a e30 up to good nick and are the things on these cars always going off?
My other alternative was a Mx-5 na but I love the look of the e30s.
Anyways I'm keen to hear your opinions.
    Cheers,
    Alberto
