Saw some on Trademe before, try searching for BMW 335i in parts section and see what you find. Not sure you'll be saving anything though.
cheers, will keep an eye out.

Hey guys,
Thought I'd check here first just in case before I waste hundreds of dollars on shipping from the states and customs fees.
Does anyone in NZ stock intercoolers, downpipes or charge pipes/BOV's for a 335i? Or is anyone selling second hand?
cheers,
Julian

Hey Julian,
I would get the MHD over the cobb for the same purpose you are looking for
Haven't looked at what pricing of the cobbs are - last time i looked they were around 800-1000 US for a cobb verus how much for MHD (depends whether you have android device already etc)
Ya - I was running the BMS flash stacked with the JB4 - but now with MHD - no point running stacked mode with stock turbos unless I was running hybrid/single turbo upgrades
MHD is very easy to setup with your car - more then happy to show you a demo if you're in auckland
Cheers Suresh, just waiting for good deal on DP, FMIC & CP. Once they're here, I'll give you call.
-
Thanks for the replies.
Cobb is obsolete , they stopped development on the n54 platform a few years ago - I have switched over to the MHD and it's pretty easy and being able to get a Protune was a big factor for me changing from the jb4

Suresh, even though Cobb have stopped development, would it still serve its purpose for me and bump up my HP and allow me to change maps according to the bolt ons I have? I mean that's all I really want, I wouldn't be doing anything as extreme as you.
Also, don't MHD and JB4 run together? Are they easy to setup like Cobb?
-
Don't trust hearsay and conjecture. Talk to Cobb.
Yep, have been in contact with Cobb. They said there have been problems with the N55 DME getting updated and not working with Cobb anymore. I know what you're saying though, but when you get vendors and respected tuners saying Cobb will be obsolete soon it makes you wonder.

Hey guys,
Still quite new to the 335i community and trying to make head and tail after reading all the forums leaves me with more questions than answers.
Have got a catless DP, FMIC, CP & BOV lined up, but still unsure which tuning route to head down. Initially I liked the idea of the Cobb as it was a seemingly simple solution to get a lot of power, but after reading the forums (e90post, n54tech), a lot of people are saying the Cobb is obsolete now and support from Cobb has ceased. Most people seem to be heading down the MHD and JB4 route.
So my question is, is it still wise of me to buy a Cobb? Will it suit my needs? Or do I need to get up to play with MHD and the like?
I won't be doing any extreme modifications in the future, and the impression I get is that MHD has more options and will allow that sort of thing.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers.

Mine has packed up, need a replacement. The whole cluster, with window and mirror controls.
Anyone?

did you DIY or take it somewhere? the worksmanship looks spot on!
I had a mate of a mate do it.
From my experience, just make sure wherever you go, that they wrap around the edges. The last place I went to didn't and you could see the silver trim underneath. Looked average.
-
how much did it cost for the 3m interior trim wrap?
Most businesses will charge between $300 and $400 depending on whether you take the trim out yourself.
If you want to DIY, I think the 3M wrap range is between $70-$100 per sq metre.
-
-
Could you post pics of the interior wrap? I considered doing this as the oem piano black trim is stunning.
will post some tomorrow when I can get some better photos in the daylight.
-
Where the door trims removed to do the tints ?
Yes, as they were vinyl wrapping the trim too.
-
Had a few things done since my first post, so thought I'd update with a few better pictures.
So far, I have swapped out the chrome grill for a matte black one, smoked indicators, matte black emblems, tints, had the wood grain interior wrapped in 3M Brushed Black Metallic, and wheels have been refurbished, powder coated, and wrapped in some new rubber.
Still need to wrap the window trim black, drop it just a touch, and get some angel eyes and then I will begin the performance mods (once the bank account recharges).
Still on the hunt for some black and silver BBS centre caps too if anyone wants to sell or swap for my red and gold ones.
cheers.

Hey guys,
I got my tints done on Thursday, and the next day my electric windows stopped working. I only mention the tints because I was wondering if water might have got down into the electrics and caused the problem.
The front passenger window is the only window that works, but when used, it makes a burning smell come from the master switch pad.
I can get the windows to all go down via the key FOB.
Any advice on what order or process I should be going through if I want to try and fix this myself?
cheers.

they look great, I like the semi-gloss appearance too. You're going to be on a promise keeping those up to scratch, now #8 )
20 nuts/bolts per rim, and all that thread locker. Must be a patient man!
A stunning result.
cheers
Cheers man. Yeah I've been thinking about how I'm going to maintain them. Good thing is I'm OCD. Bad thing is I'm OCD lol.

Cheers guys, and yes Peter, yes they do. Looking forward to getting more power out of it.

Just thought I'd show the awesome job member Jasjot did on my 18" BBS LM's.
They came over from Japan in pretty average condition, and Jas transformed them.
Lips had minor curbing fixed and were polished, centres were powder coated satin black by ProCoat in East Tamaki and the bolts were tumbled.
Centres were also reverse mounted.
Awaiting new tyres and will post photos on car soon.
Cheers bro, good work and great price!
Highly recommend.

Kia-ora!
Previously owned a 2008 325i e91. Loved it. Got the itch for more power, and after scouring the Japanese auctions for a while,
finally got my hands on a 2007 335i e90.
Came in stock standard, apart from some 18" BBS LM's that I was pretty happy with. Will post some photos of the refurb I got done by member Jas, who did a great job, in another thread.
Planning on doing some performance mods once I do some more reading and research, but will keep the cosmetic stuff fairly simple as I want a sleeper!
Better photos to come, once I get the wheels on.
cheers,
Julian
