  1. i cant work out if i like the colour, guess its one of those ones you'd have to see with your own eyes to make a precise judgement. Same goes for the interior. Regardless, it looks rather tidy.

Whats the 728i like performance wise? ive driven 730i and 740i and both seemed to have ample power for a comfortable drive..

  2. -with center caps

-Goodride tyres (plenty of tread left all round)

-Paint in good cond, no peeling

-2x wheel have light curb rash, with small prang mark in each wheel on lip (see photo's)

  3. Very nice! would make the perfect runabout. Due to its tidy original condition and the 15" basketweaves id say around the 6k mark would be a fair price, but hey advertise at 7 and you might be able to negotiate ono close to that 7k

  4. heres my old one 95 730i "the baby v8"

such a goddamn comfortable car to drive when driving ! (like driving a plush leather loungeset)

spent somewhere between 2-3k trying to fix a shuddering idle issue when braked at the lights after driving...

which lead me to selling it... fuel consumption was never really a worry as the 730 is a little less than a 740 & it was purely a recreational car as have work vehicle gas paid etc..

problem is with the e38s is bmw really went to town with alot of electrical components and whatnot meaning multiple expensive problems to fix in the future etc..

you can pick them up relatively cheap now a days as they dont seem to be that sort after because of how thirsty they are i guess??

In my opinion if you can find a late model low kms with everything working as it should, tidy example then go for it they really are a pleasure to drive if you dont mind the petrol bill...

  5. hello all.

I was 1st introduced to bmw's when my parents purchased a 1990 e30 318i for my mom to use as a daily driver, it was the car i learned to drive in in my teenage years..

3 nissans and an e38 later i find myself back in a 1990 e30 318i same colour and everything the only difference is it has 2 less doors :)

problem is its auto :( and i really need some manual in my life...

Im from chch and i went to eurotec who apparently specialise in bmw to enquire about a manual conversion and they pretty much told me to not bother and find a manual 1...

so far ive bid on 2 manual 325i's e30's on trademe and been outbid..

I see that hell bm are known for doing swaps and ive mostly heard good things about them but yeah thats in AK.. Are there any places in chch/south island that do the conversion and how much will it cost?? roughly...if its not too much im thinking it could be worth it as the car is in reasonably good cond, the interior is pretty mint.. just a few dings on the drivers side and a lil front bumper damage.. but the car still looks pretty tidy considering...

Or would you recomend just waiting to find one that pops up on trademe or where ever...?? (im willing to spend around 10k)

any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

    here's my current e30(sorry blurry photo) :
