Hi Guys, I have a question about the trans in my partners 318ti. When the car is cold the gearbox doesnt change gear till alot later than when its warm. When cold itll change at about 4k and warm prob around 2.5-3k. Hot or Cold it still changes smooth, no lurching or anything. Just wondering if its meant to be doing this? Im looking at getting the trans flushed and serviced at the next service anyway but if this is gonna cause damage to the box itll get it done asap. cheers

Hi Guys, Hopefully someone here can help me out with this. My partner has a 95 318ti, awesome little car, the only problem is when she sits in traffic the brakes squeal so damn loud when braking lightly... i think its got to the point where it does it all the time now, light or hard braking. The brake pads and everything have lots of meat left on them aswell. Could it be the compound of the pad? or possibly do the disks need skimming or something? Cheers

haha yea bit to much of a girls car for me in my opinion. i am mechanically minded but more towards the japanese side of things so yea pre purchase inspection might not be a bad idea. wheres the best place to take it? im in auckland on the north side but the cars im looking at are in south / east auckland. thanks

Hi guys, Im new to the forums here. im looking at getting my partner a 95-96 318ti, ive found a few with around 100,000km for good prices. is there anything inparticular i should watchout for when looking at the cars? or anything that common to go wrong with them? also wondering how hard the speedo is to reset or change on them? one im going to look at has weird kms on carjam, they dont increase much then it drops 30000kms. any help would be great. thanks
