Hi there, Greetings from Taumarunui. At present I am in the middle of a Vanos dismantle on one of our 328's
Originally, the car developed a nasty rattle at the front of the engine together with a miss, after removing the piston that controls the intake camshaft, I found it to be very loose in it's cylinder and a 0.002 feeler gauge fitted between these components.
There appears to be no further evidence elsewhere in the upper engine that would cause this noise and after reviewing several websites, their answers were all the same, ( Vanos )
I source my parts from BMW dealer in Hamilton and although I have not checked yet, I don't think the seal kit will be available only a replacement Vanos.
Is there a supplier of this kit in Auckland?
