  1. Hey Guys,

It's time to let my pride and joy go to another home. Me and the wife are cutting back on costs and are dropping down to one car, I now e-bike into work and this just sits in the garage and only gets used occasionally on the weekends. I've loved every minute of ownership, and I hope to find another home on here for it rather than have to put it up on Trademe.

I have full service history for it in my ownership, prior to me there was one other NZ owner, and originally from Japan.

Recently done the brakes/rotors (all around) 60,000km's left in them
    Near new front tyres
Rear tyres have plenty of life left in them
No modifications apart from blacking out the kindey grille, and white angel eyes
    Recently serviced
    102,000km
Always garaged and washed meticulously every fortnight!

There are no issues that i know of with the car except that it could do with a transmission fluid change as it very occasionally hesitates in 6th gear at around 2k RPM. I had it checked at Auckland City BMW who had it on their computers, checked all the gear ratios, torque converter etc etc and said it was perfect, just needs a fluid change, this would be at a cost to the new owner of around $1000

Due to the above, i will let it go for $14000

If you would like to discuss further please get me on mobile (Zero 2 1 Two three Zero 3 0 7 7 )

  2. Hey Guys

I have a 2008 135i  (Jap Import) with the old CCC iDrive. I want to update my car so i get bluetooth audio, and navigation. I was looking at getting this installed - https://www.hyperdrive.co.nz/product/92405/pioneer-avh-z7150bt-apple-carplay-android-auto-head-unit

Only issue would be when the screen pops up im assuming itll cover the aircon controls.

What have other people done to bring NZ Nav to their car and update the media system?

Ditch the runflats, get some Assy 3's, never look back.

I found that much stagger resulted in epic understeer in the E87, could still overwhelm the rear when provoked, but the front let go much easier when loaded up in a corner. 135 has more power, but not that much more. I guess BMW do it for looks and "understeer safety" ?

I run 225 front 235 rear and it feels pretty neutral

    Assy 3's ?

I got some BBS 18x8 with re003s 225 40 18 on them on my 130 if u r interested in a swap plus cash my way for your stock wheels.

Planning to sell my car so not bothered if I put stock wheels on it

Edit, nevermind. Saw your post in the FS section. Not really what im after man, cheers though!

  5. Heya

My 135i needs some new front tyres. Im sticking with RFT for now as my rear tyres have heaps of tread and I know you cant mix and match RFT with non RFT. The factory size tyre on the front is 215/40/18  and 245/35/18 on the back.

Wondering if I can fit 225/40/18 on the front? Found some second hand tyres for fairly cheap on trademe - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1396677214

So hoping to buy these and stick em on the front. Thoughts?

PS. I am running the factory rims.

As you don't have USB/iPhone audio that won't work. There is no cheap option that would work with steering wheel controls.

    I've got this:
    https://www.amazon.com/iClever-Bluetooth-Hands-Free-Multi-Point-Activation/dp/B00GJFGE0K

Works well, great sound quality. You can stick it near the iDrive controller and route the cables under the handbrake boot (well, on my E92, not sure on the 1 series). So at least the controls are easy to reach.

Cheers man I will have a look into this

  7. Hi Guys,

Im wanting to get bluetooth audio working in my 135i. The car came with an AUX port but no USB. I've been looking at this - https://www.amazon.com/Tune2Air-WMA3000B-Bluetooth-Streaming-Connection/dp/B00R3ABHXY/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1497494958&sr=1-1&keywords=tune2air+bmw

But im a little confused as to which model i would need as my car does not have a USB port. Would the above work with a cigi lighter USB adapter plugged into it? Sorry, a little clueless with this stuff. Basically, i want to be able to play music over bluetooth, and have the ability to skip tracks etc from the steering wheel. Looking for options

    Cheers!

Do the pads have the machined area on them, which must be perfect otherwise the new sensor will break ??... I can supply new sensors

Not sure as i have not purchased them yet. I cant remember the brand of the pads but they are whatever racebrakes recommend for street use on a 135. PM me about the sensors dude. Cheers

You need to replace the progressive wear sensor and reset CBS with a proper scanner after the brakes are done to turn off the light. And it does have to be done, otherwise traction control light will also stay on with the brake warning light. The late model cars need to have this done every time pads are replaced

Ok cheers man, best place to source those parts? RACEBRAKES dont do them. Assuming i can reset the CBS with MHD?

The sensor is the least of your worries in terms of cost on a brake job.  They're a cheap part.  If it's cut - what brings up the 'flag' (dashboard light "your pads are getting low"), you replace it.  If it's newer 'condition-based servicing' in the e82, I'm clueless.

if your rear rotors are done (as in 'times up, you're done, replacement'), you might want to consider your parking brake hardware too.  I found on my e46 that my parking brake shoes were close to toasted when I replaced the rotors, prompting another parts purchase and subsequent removal of kit.

Sometimes it's more straightforward to leave it to the professionals, they'll replace what needs to be replaced.

    HTH

Yeah im not worried about the cost of the sensor, just wanted to know if i need to replace it if im doing the brakes before it actually tells me to, ie right now i still have 1100km's to go on them.

I'll be getting the parts fitted by a reputable place and wont be doing the job myself :)

Cheers for the heads up on the parking brake, ill mention that to the mechanic.

  11. Hey Lads,

So my 135 is telling me my rear brakes need to be done in 1100kms. Im planning on getting the parts from 0800 RACEBRAKES but i have a question. Does the sensor need replacing if i replace the pads and rotors? Or does it only need replacing if its worn right through? Assuming its the same for the fronts? I need to do those within 4500km's

    Cheers!

Yes the 1 series seem to hold the prices I think there are less of them as well, I have CCC with NZ maps and will get bluetooth installed soon. Isn't CCC to CiC about 3 grand?

Its about 2k + GST. Yeah, definitely less of them around, i dont see many on the road. Although in saying that, one caught me off guard the other day in the city and boosted off down the motorway onramp like a rabbid beast!
