Thanks for your reply Thomas. I didn't scan it myself as I took it to a mechanic in my area and they said they couldn't find any fault codes. Do you recommend getting the scanner and see what it shows before replacing anything?

I got an issue with my 1998 E39 and would really appreciate your feedbacks as it has been bothering me for quite a while and I haven't been able to solve it.

Issues

1. Random stalling - most often when idle, coming to a stop or at low speeds.
2. Hard start after stalling - sometimes it starts back up but other times have to wait about 5 to 10 minutes to start up again.
3. Fuel efficiency is quite poor.
4. Weak acceleration going from 0 to 50 but once it hits pass 50 it's ok.

Replaced

1. Air filter
2. Spark plugs
3. Fuel filter
4. Mass air flow sensor

*There are no fault codes and no engine light. 

I was wondering if any members here have had a similar issue and managed to fix it. I would really appreciate your help!
