  1. Hi there, still fairly new to this place so apologies if posted in the wrong area. I've recently completed an E46 318i to 330i manual conversion. Engine is happy and everything is sounding and running good, however I still have a few lights left on the dash. The motor came with its factory ECU, however I'm using the cars existing cluster. It's picking up the revs and fuel and everything fine but it's not giving me an odometer readout. No Speedo, won't calculate fuel usage per km etc. I've booked a scanner up to OBD2 and that's telling me what my wheel speed is, however the cluster can't seem to deal with that. I will try a full cluster reset tomorrow (again). Also the Kms on the car and the engine need to be matched and the ECU needs to be manual tuned. If there's anyone who can do some programming for me that would be amazing, I am based in Hamilton, and otherwise any advice for now would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

  2. Hi everyone, I'm in the middle of a 318i to m54b30 + manual conversion and I'm having an issue with starting. When the ignition is switched to on, I'm hearing an electrical sounding hum from the intake side of the motor. To eliminate some possible causes, I've got an ECU with the immobilizer delete so the ews system is not relevant, the ECU is also tuned to manual so it's not the car looking for an auto box. To double check, I've put the original 330i ECU in the car, with the corresponding ews box and chip and was still getting the same issue, the battery is in good condition, the starter motor has been replaced. All the dash lights come on, fuel pump primes, all the normal sounds are made however the hum is persistent, and the car doesn't even crank. The hum continues for about 10 seconds after the ignition has been switched off. Any ideas would be very welcome. Cheers.

  3. Hello all, I'm sorry if this has been solved or discussed somewhere but I could not find anything. I'm doing the 3.0L swap from a 330i into my 318i wagon (both E46) and am up to the point of removing the drive by wire throttle assembly from the 330. I am wondering what the process involves? Do I have to take the whole harness the wire from the throttle pedal attaches to, or can I tease them out somehow? Any help would be hugely appreciated! Many thanks.

Some pics of the madness if anyone's interested :) (the car with the halos is the wagon getting the new motor)

  4. Hello everyone, I recently bought a brand new m sport front bumper, listed as being sweet as for 2000 to 2005 e46 sedans and wagons. After opening it and removing my old bumper I quickly found that it's got almost no room for the front bash bar, and has no where for me to bolt the bash bar into. I've taken some photos, Ive pointed at the spots on the two bumpers as to where the original had the inserts and holes for the bash bar, compared to the new one which doesn't. I hope someone can tell me if I have purchased the wrong bumper, or I need a different bash bar, or I've missed something really obvious!

    Many thanks!
