  1. 2001 525i, needs a new fuel pump. Selling as is as I've bought something new and need this gone.

Could also probably do with a new battery. And a clean...

Can get it started with a gentle tap on the gas tank and a jump start, don't know how long it will run for though.

    Looking for $1k

Car is on the North Shore. Can post more pics if anyone is interested.

  2. Hey guys,

Car has been sitting around for months as Ive been driving another for work. Battery went flat and in the process of removing it and charging the airbag light has come on. Went to get a warrant without thinking about it and of course failed...

Does anyone here in Auckland have a code reader and would be able to help me get rid of it and avoid daylight robbery at BMW?

    Thanks in advance!

  3. Have a right hand tail light for e39, is LED celis style with clear indicators, genuine hella. Brake light bulb connections seem to be buggered, but everything else works perfectly. I have no idea if it's of any use to anyone here but it's yours for $30 if you want it.

  4. Scott , just wondering what you do to maintain the finish ? That was a spectacular transition.

Hi Neal, its been pretty much impossible to keep it looking that good. Anytime you touch your car you'll scratch it but in saying that its only about 10% as bad as it was before I got it done. I just wash with a lambswool mitt and dry using microfibre towels. Right after I got it done I was really careful when washing etc but I soon got bored of that when I realised there was no way of avoiding scratches completely, especially on a black car.

I also use a polish called Zaino, its really easy to use and looks damn good and somewhat fills the swirl marks you get from washing and drying. As long as you keep applying it every month or two you should be sweet and your car will be looking mint. Only downside is that you have to order it from Australia, its pretty expensive but you hardly have to use any product for a coat so it lasts ages.

I highly recommend PFS, even when my car is filthy it still looks cleaner than most.

  5. So I get into my car this morning and the radio is stuck on one station. Everything appears to work when you push the buttons but it just keeps playing the same station. Change it to cd, radio keeps playing, same goes for tape. So I get to where I'm driving and switch the car off, and the damn thing keeps playing even with the key out of the car! Turning the radio off also does nothing. My only solution at the moment is to turn the volume down before I turn off the ignition.

Anyone know what the hell's going on and how I can fix this? Cheers.

  6. Have the same in black and absolutely love it. There's no need for a euro radio tuner. Just turn the radio off then on again, then quickly hold down the 'm' button until the menu comes up. Scroll through to 'area' and change it to europe and voila. Unfortunately I only found this out after the dealer had put a band expander in...

  7. What about brake, rear and reverse lights? are they easy enough or do you need to mess around with them too>?

Everywhere you mount a bulb you need a resistor otherwise you will get bulb out warnings unless you recode the lcm. And from what I understand from reading on another forum, bmws put out a small amount of power intermitently to monitor whether the bulbs are blown. But because leds take so little power to go, they flicker when this happens. So im guessing this would need to be disabled also. (someone with more knowledge than me would need to confirm this though).

Im starting to think its not worth the effort haha.
