  1. Cheers guys,

Yup thats the one. wasnt sure if that panel is part of the boot or it detachable. Go to it :P

panel is detatchable and only really the exterior finishing,

This may be a stupid question here, but is it a manual shift? Sorry, I have a E46 M3 and I know them pretty well, but not the E60's.

We'll have to have a drive sometime around some twisty roads, or maybe you should take it to a BMWClub trackday sometime. Would love to see it closely.

it's the SMG, so a 7 speed paddleshift manual with dual automatic clutches. trackday may or may not happen, depends on what is happening on the day with the family, but eventually i'll make it to one ;)

  2. Cheers guys.

ethrty, when you say boot lid, you mean the place where the plate sits, right? so it would look more like this:

and it drives well :D p500s is lethal. i attempted a wheel spin today in p400 and no traction brake. lets just say i was impressed

and don't get me started on the sound

apart from that, it has leds in the front air scoops, a blacked out roof, K&N air filters and AC Schnitzer front splitters

  4. With the Euro E60 everything is in the dash - nav drive incl computer on the Euro car

With the Jap car it has a separate nav drive in the boot.

So you need to remove the JNAV in the boot and replace the CCC in the front with the Euro CCC

and then go through the coding headaches.

It would pay to study the wiring diagrams to confirm what config you have and compare to Euro car.

    Look for the WDS online.

Study device N38a, that's the CCC/M-ASK, and it feeds the CID with a picture.

    CCC = car communications coontroller

M-ASK = MOST audio system controller

OK so my E60 is a 2007 M5. I've looked at the WDS and there are fairly large differences. I am particularly nervous about part numbers for the CCC. e-Bay have Euro CCC's but they keep quoting different part numbers. Do you know what CCC they put in the NZ ones? The parts I have been quoted include 6583 915 9028 and 6583 6987689 - 02 and 6583 9148 016 - 01 and her's the most recent one I've ben given 6583 6953773-04 all claiming to be from Euro E60's.

  5. Yes, but not easy. You need to code the vehicle for the NZ market.

Can only be done with BMW diagnostic tools and knowledge...

Yes. But this is the cheapest shittiest solution man could ever think off. In line with fitting a coat hanger for an aerial.

Change nav unit (physical unit) and recode vehicle for NZ market

    Hi Jochen

When you say change the nav unit are you just talking about the unit in the boot or the whole CCC? I have an E60 from Japan. Sorting issues one at a time. Jim
