  1. Just noticed this '90 325i conv. auto on the Munich Legends site for NZ$70k equiv !! They're known for high asking prices but the stock is usually good quality.  Mileage isn't low for a top-money collectable.  Is this a wider UK price trend for good E30s ?  Maybe I'll head out to the shed and give mine a polish 😊

  2. I've watched the M635 market for way too long and probably missed the boat.  The only 2 UK cars that have achieved this equivalent price in recent years were both very low mileage and "as new".  By low mileage I mean 15,000 miles.  Even then there is some suspicion in the UK M635 scene whether those UK prices were really genuine sales.  The U.S. market is very subdued and still good value, despite the smog spec and wheel on the wrong side.  Many of those cars now heading back to the EU.    From what I've seen all the NZ cars have been well used and are very high mileage. That's fine but does impact the "collectable value".  This car must have had a front seats refurb for that mileage.  What happened to the car that The Toy Shop had for sale last year - white one ?  was asking around $150k from memory.

  3. A shocker and hope the police find him/her.  That's very close to us and is a bend that regularly has cars and bikes over the centre-line .... limit needs to go to 80 there ........often too much speed into the corner and ok visibility to the straight ahead .   This guy must have seen the oncoming car before that manoeuvre but decided to play russian roulette 🤯

I’d say the only thing I miss about the petrol is the sound.

The petrol does sound great on full throttle in sport mode.  Picked up my M340i Touring last week (green one on the other thread) and drove back to the South Island.  Fuel economy is great in eco cruise mode with 650km range ...... for a car that has 370hp on tap and 0-100 in 4.5 secs.   It was a great drive down (incl the Kapiti coast  weather bomb on Thur afternoon) - a no regrets purchase !  Amazing how these 3's have morphed to similar dimensions of the new E60 530i I had back in 2004.

Congrats - it's lovely and I suspect you'll not see another green G21 in NZ.

BMW Australia may be able to sell you Alpina rims - can spec new Alpina B3 there so could be worth a look.

Cheers.  Will check out the agent in Oz - but from experience with other car parts the landed price ex-Oz is often more expensive than ex-UK and takes longer to arrive.

I would suggest you steer away from bright chrome and black. That green colour is one of very few colours which would work well with a bronze finish wheel, similar to the halo colour on the M5CS.

Agree - satin platinum bronze would look great

  7. Hi all - have lurked around these pages for a while (E30 conv '91 in the garage since '97) ....... was vaguely thinking about a new family wagon and seeing this car made that Priority No.1 so just pulled the trigger and looking forward to collection next week !

Entirely agree re the wheels ........ suggestions welcome along Alpina lines.    Will find out Alpina cost for reference.  I don't think any of the BMW dealers in NZ are Alpina agents (?)   Have found with other car & non-car items where no local supplier that head office often happy to sell direct. Failing that maybe one of the UK dealers.   HRE do an Alpina copy that's more expensive than the original !
