I’ve been following that build on r3v. He’s done an excellent job and there are a few others who have pioneered the swap on there too.
I might look down the path of trumpets later, for now I’ll use the n54 manifold for simplicity. The big argument against them (aside from the IATs, as you mentioned) is reliability, so I think a simple slide valve could be made that would mainly run wide open and use the variable lift intake for air metering, but could be used if that system failed. Plenty to experiment with but I need to get it running first.
Hoping I can make the sump baffles today and finish the pickup so I can get the engine oil tight.
