Bloody scammers...i had one guy reply to my trade & exchange listing (now sella) wanting to buy my $500 scooter and said wanted to see it but was on a ship in bermuda ( i hope he got lost there) and was able to pay me, but i needed to give him my paypal details etc...i replied with a half page full of expletives and skull ringing tell off that he must not have read again...just made me so mad!!!

  2. Updated first post with new wheels & some still for sale.

Hi have you got anything deep dish for a 1990 E34. ET20 5/120. Dont want of the new style ones, just something to the period but classy...missed out on the ARE american 15"s that you had on trademe...anything similar would be great...thats the look i want. But i think the 15"s would have been a bit small. Cheers.

  3. Just recently noticed my E46 is vibrating strangely when in idle. It runs ok and no probs there. I hadnt serviced it a while so i thought the spark plugs needed changing. It was still running ok apart from this vibration so i put new spark plugs in, changed oil and filter cz it was due.

So, just wondering if anyone out there has had this issue. Your advise and guidance will be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

  4. Hi all, i have a problem with the central locking as follows:

When i lock the drivers door from outside. Everything locks (all 3 three doors plus boot) except the drivers door. If i try unlocking, nothing unlocks and everything locks back again. Nothing seems to happen to the drivers door for some reason. I can manually unlock the other doors but not drivers door.

Has anyone else encountered this problem or knows a solution.

Any help or advise will be highly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

    Cheers

  5. Have just fitted the kit in the link to the e34, all shaking (and i mean this was serious shaking.) is now gone, all the bits i replaced where completely trashed. the kit comes with all the bits you need, and looks to be decent quality, everything fits exactly right and it drives a million times better now.

Just wondering if you bought that kit on ebay. How much did it set you back delivered.

  6. Solved brake light warning...finally!!!

Passenger side brake light - removed lens from car frame, realised bulb was blown, in the process of twisting out bulb holder, broke the holder on two bulb holders - so zoomed down to local bmw parts shop, got new holders, installed and tested - works now

Driver side brake light - in the process of testing passenger side, realised driver side light was not working either, opened lens from car frame, realised water inside lens, drained out, took bulb out of holder - bulb ok, holder with pins rusted  !!! - replaced pins from other side damaged holder after searching in the rubbish bin :D . used clear sealant (which i borrowed from dads garage :P )to seal rubber on lens which had come off so leaked water in. installed bulb/holder back. tested and all working fine. NO MORE BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS IN DASH... :D yippeee!!!!

  7. Hi All,

I know this problem exists with the E34's. My previous E34 had this problem come up once and i accidently had it solved when i recharged the car battery...it started working again.

Now, with my current E34, thought it was the same issue. (by the way the car battery drains away if i dont use the car for a week at least. Read somewhere that its to do with the heat locks-for freeing up the locks in cold season where locks may get cold and jammed - but thats a problem to solve another day).

I have recharged battery in the weekend but still no central locking. when i put the key in the drivers door and turn it to unlock, all doors unlock then bounce back to lock position apart from the drivers door which is in the open mode all the time. I tried unlocking trunk with key but same thing, unlocks then bounces back to lock position.

Also read that it could be to do with the fuse under rear seat or the wires under trunk hinge area or the lug pins been rusted and old in the right panel next to speaker in the drivers leg area where the central locking computer sits apparently.

Any of you good people had same issues...many thanks for reading my post and appreciate all the help and advise.

  8. Thanks all for the good advise. Really appreciate it.

I will work on getting the suspension sorted soon. I will post more questions if i get stuck. Also i was wondering if i should do the work myself or get it done at a garage. I would love to do it as i want to learn more about my car and coz labour is so expensive...but it will save time...

  9. old car now , just replace all the arms , thrust arm bushes will be the first thing i would look at.

get it up on a hoist at a garage and get them to test each bush and ball joint for movement .

you can buy a complete front end kit from ebay , all the suspension and steering arms in one go . then it will drive like new.

Hey Brent, yea true, its been a while since you had it and i'm pretty sure no ones done anything to it apart from the usual since its changed hands over the years. Yes, i think your advise on changing all the bits in one go is a good one. And yea that was a good link on ebay. Thanks for that.

I am looking at giving the car a breath of fresh air so will be hasseling you for advise in the near future.

  10. Hi, im a newbie here and also loving my E34.

I know this problem exists with the bmws. How do i check what bushing(s) might be worn out to allleviate this shaking problem. A friend said its the control arm bushes. But its gone through two warrants without anyone picking this problem. And i have been ignoring the issue as i have learnt to adopt my driving and i brake earlier on to avoid the shaking. i know its pathetic but, i need to save some dollars to fix this before it gets out of hand.

Yea so would appreciate any comments/advise on how to check properly and whether it could be the control arms.

    Many thanks.

  11. irl transporter! It should be a 735i though with keypad start and shock absorbers tuned for the weight of 3, not 4, bank robbers.

Haha...a wana be Transporter...wonder if he has a spare Tux in the boot just in case he had some "obstacles" on the way...nice 39 though..could have been better with dark tints i reckon....

I agree has to be a 7er for this job...hmmm....recession does bring out the best in people!!!
