Has anyone else replaced their CD changer for the USB allegedly plug and play MP3 player from Bimmernav. I bought one, had it wired in by an auto electrician to the phone switched power source and it simply doesn't work. If you can get it to go at all it'll play for about 5minutes and then disappear from the OBC. Bimmernav are not interested in replacing it or refunding me my money - so buyer beware if you deal with them.

Hi, I've got a Sept 2001 540i. Everything is good in the car except the CD changer which I've changed for a MP3 player from bimmernav which so far has been more trouble than it's worth. But, at lunchtime today I went to start the car and it didn't start - starter motor just gave a sound like the battery didn't have enough grunt to turn the motor over. Retried and it started and runs fine. The battery was only checked yesterday as part of my plan to sort the god awful mp3 player out. BUT - my radio display which used to be black and white and showed the telephone and nav system now is an ugly blue/white thing without the NAV and Phone. Has anyone had this happen and how do I get my display back? Thanks Murray

Thanks for all your help Hotwire. In the end I was at an auto electricians on a different matter and he removed the 12 pin plug on the nav system; when he reconnected I could suddenly reprogram my radio. Not sure if anyone else knows about this.

HiIt's got the 19:6 monitor in the dash and a 6 disc CD chAnger in the boot, which I have just changed to an MP3 player from bimmernav. With my luck it will be the older radio - does anyone know how I can find out what model radio it is? Thanks for your response

Hi, I have checked the build date of my car - it is 2001/09 - does this have the world radio. I have got a 2001 e39 540i my radio doesn't have an 'm' button to hold down. Does this mean I miss out? Cheers Murray
