I was dead keen on this but had a finance hiccup so can't go for it -but if anyone is looking for a super-clean e36 convertible - give Greg a call on 0274880570. He's looking for $14k. Car is in Wellington. See this trademe auction for pictures: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...on-39122537.htm

I'll be getting this tomorrow if it checks out at page european: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...on-39122537.htm 1994, 175kms e36 325i 5-speed. Black on black and tan, *very* straight, new roof -> $13,200... Does that seem like a reasonable price? Would I have much trouble getting rid of it at the end of summer?

For all the disadvantages (security, wank factor, cost) I keep coming back to those moments of clarity where I think of taking the roof down and dropping the hammer in 1st.

I'm looking at pulling the trigger on an e36 convertible - but I'm a bit worried about what peoples attitude will be to the car. It looks pretty flash and I don't want to have to always worry about people keying it - throwing an icecream onto the seats - or cutting the roof. Any other convertible owners care to mention? I was thinking if I didn't keep it tooo shiny (not overly waxed) and parked it in reasonable places it wouldn't be too much trouble. I had an mx5 and had no problems parking that top down everywhere - but an 325 is a whole other ballgame. :/

I'm keen on getting another car. I saw a nice e36 drop 325i manual - but it was a bit too expensive to leave parked on the street - so now I'm looking for an e30. How much should I be expected to pay for a nice (tidy, manual hood - not mint) one? This one looks pretty sweet - might take a look when I'm in auckland in a week or two. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...on-38918972.htm Anyone else got leads on some?
