  1. Hi Guys,

Just thought i would add my 2 cents worth. I have a 99 328i. The economy i get is a s follows. On a long trip from here (TGA) to wellington with 4 in the car and aboot full of luggage i reset the trip computor at home and achieve an average speed of 100kph, my fuel economy is 7.5l per 100 km. My urban cycle driving normally is 9.9 l per 100 k. I admit that my HP has been increased to about 205 hp but the economy is pretty good for a 2.8.Its cheaper to run than most of the 2.0l jappas.I also know of several 540 owners who have gained another 100km out of a tank of gas by the same method on a long trip.

    Cheers

  2. All that has been listed is good but what about the stuff a bit to the left of mainstream, Stuff like

Shriekback - All lined up , Nemesis

Depeche Mode - every thing counts, Photographic

Yazoo - dont go , situation

Sisters of mercy -This corrosion, Dominion

Thomas Dolby - windpower, Blinded with science

    Eurythmics - paint a rumour , Aqua

The Shamen - ebeneezer goode , Move any mountain

And thats just a quick browse through one CD rack.

Bring back the 80s and Fast E30s

  3. BMW did not have much room under the bonnet so they came up with the idea of one hydraulic pump to run the power steer < self leveling>and brake boost. The system was refered to as the H31 sytem. The fluid in it was usually a special hydraulic fluid and the sphere was filled with nitrogen to allow you to have boosted brakes if the motor stopped while driving.Unfortunatly many people did not fill the systems with the correct oil and used ATF. This caused the seals to fail and caused many costly repair. It performs the same job as a vacuum booster but takes up less space and could be intergrated with other systems. The system is monitored and has a self check system to let you know when the pressure is faulty.

  4. Personally i would never touch an "off the shelf" chip. These may be more agressively tuned for performance but as they are not specifically tuned your engine they may run too rich or too lean in areas and therefore may result in poorer perfomance and/or economy in areas and in worse case scenarios it may result in engine damage.

Getting a chip that is tuned for your engine with your car on a dyno using air fuel ratio and exhaust gas temperature readouts would be a better way to go, but I have no idea who can do it for later model bmw's over here.

Superchips load up YOUR ecu file and then modify it . Its not off the shelf .Then It is then refitted to your vehicle and the adaptive nature relearns to how you drive, They can also do all BMW even new ones like the 335 turbo and 745 E65. It also comes with a lifetime warranty.

  5. Hey Lads,

I have a set of 4 Bilstien HD lowered shocks and Apex lowered springs to sell, only done a few Kms in the car but have to replace them to meet the regs for the E30series. What are they worth?. need to sell to pay for Koni suspension and King springs.

Let me know if there are any Keen Punters.

  6. The flywheel is in good nick and the car it came out of was in good condition , According to the info i have the 318flywheel should work as the dimensions are similar, I am in the process of checking out , if that does not work a trade sounds good ytoo me, are you building a car for the series too.?

  7. Dont forget that coil over suspension will require and LVVC and the cost of one of those isrom $350 up. Also remember that 100mm off ground is the wof standard, for a track car no worries if you want to drive on the road think about the others when it all goes wrong when not done the correct way, I have seen to many dodgy vehicles cause others to have accidents.
