  1. and if you turn the word "subaru" around, you get "u r a bus"
  2. when i say it was running like a subaru with no power - thats what i meant - mine is a pretty base model 325, as in nothing special or extra, so compare it with a base model subaru. I took a 99 version 6 sti for a drive when i was last in wellington. It had lag for africa and the gearbox felt sloppy - which i was assured was "normal". If i had to buy a rally bred car, i would have to go with an evo or a focus or somthing - subarus sound funny, some can look good, but as a general rule they aint my cup of tea. And as for the reliablity issues - they suck for it. as for the speed bit - my mate had one (93 subaru WRX) - we were going down the expressway between napier and hastings, he put his foot down, so i did, sat right up his ass till his car would go no more - then pulled out and passed him. Overall - im not a fan, i have been in a few, and driven a few more - enough for me to know that i dont like them. sorry if this runs contrary to your beliefs
  3. the E36 service lights come on on the dash when you first start it up - the lights die out at roughly 2000km intervals until all 5 have gone out, then it comes up with service due - ive had that light come on once... never again, i hate driving around with warning lights up on the dash - gets frustraiting!!! Also, my 325 seemed to lag a bit from time to time starting not long after i bought it, i would have my foot flat on the gas, and it would feel like it was towing a heavy load or somthing... then it started running like a subaru - no power and that awful wap wap wap noise that subarus make.... Took it in, and it had a dead spark plug. Got all 6 replaced, then about 2 weeks later it was doing that subaru thing again! so it went back in, and 4 out of 6 of my coil packs were arcing out... Thank god for a mechanical warranty where i dont have to pay a cent for problems a - that cost the warranty people $1500... But back to my point! The problem with it feeling like it has no power (well less than it already doenst have) seemed to go away after the coilpacks were done. It still does it very very rarely, but maybe that has somthing to do with the fact that we have such crappy gas here in Hawkes Bay. (it ran like a dream on 98 Octane while I was up in Auckland... we need that stuff here!)
  4. haha it reall bites when you finish washing your car and then it rains... But whats even worse is when your car is clean and then some dropkick in a Hilux surf decided to do burnouts in the grass in front of you, messing up your otherwise clean car....
  5. hahahahahaha yeah good call tim -needs to be made fast!yeah - i love that height - but the back bumper thing could be a bit dodge - it could look good, but i just dunno - why not a fully custom one - like veilside or somthing similar... but that height is NICE!!!! do it shelley - the height thing that is - maybe you could get some hydros or somthing...

thats the plan, i want the clear ones, and i also want to paint the bottom of the car the same colour (ie the bottom part of the front bumper and the sideskirts and sh*t) it should look even lower when ive done that!!!
  7. does it say in that thread about what power mods hes done?? i didnt c any - could just be that im a bit thick!!! haha and it does look really cool - just the doors seem like an expensive thing to be doing - esp when your the driver and you dont USE the back doors for yourself....
  8. thats cool as - but yeah like everyone else said - apart from being different - whats the point - I wanna go draw on his dusty back windows - draw somthing really random / rank - common - it be fun!!!

    My ride

haha yeah thats very true - theres a guy round the bay - havnt seen it for a while so hopefully hes seen sense, but yeah he had one of those message plates. Up the top it said bling then the actual number plate said BLING then below that it said money aint a thing... all this was on a standard E36 BMW 318... standard steelies and all that it was only a 93 - everytime i saw it i thought what a dick, thats probably worth as much as a primera.... found out thru a mate that his parents bought him the car....

    Spot the diff

tinted windows actually make security worse - unless you get those solace ones that wont let the window fold in on itself that is. normal tinted windows shatter when smashed, but because of the tinted windows they hold in, and can be pushed in by hand.... making the whole process very silent - and it means that unless you got a mean as glass break sensor your alarm aint gunna go off unless they open the doors.... hence the reason im only going to get the type of tint that wont let the window be pushed in... like the ones shown on high octane 3...
  19. this car fe sh*t - do they do the interior as well as the exterior or do they just do a mint job on the outside??? i got a panel beater mate who told me that they do a polish up jobe on cars for approx $80, where it is machine buffed and sh*t like that... he says that it comes out with a paint job that looks brand new - might have to give that a go.... (i dont have a problem leaving my car at a panel beaters - as long as its the one where my mate works - otherwise im not happy about leaving it with anyone - esp with chromies and sounds in it...)

    My E30 325i

hehe waterblasters are pretty fun - make washing the car a bit faster - especially with one of those attachments for foaming. that is a nice colour to - looks like its in awsome condition for its age! are you duna chuck some big ass wheels on or just leave em standard?
  21. yeah the south africans are right into their bimmers a... but they are also built to a different spec arent they??? i cant remember whats different, but apparently they are a bit.... but who gives a sh*t when your taking the pedal box and gearbox and sh*t like that out a!!! I found some polish wreckers selling wrecked e46 diesel bimmers - they looked pretty sweet, and they were manual, but a diesel bimmer??? hmmmmmmmm
