I feel the weight of Europe attacking me
Ahhh!
-
Gen 1 Rs or an E30. I know which I would have.
-
Yes, I would take it to Botany Motor Worx and get it scanned.
That is the plan for tomorrow

I think you will find buddy, that just about every piece of technology on any road going car were pretty much developments from F1...even Hondas, whos turbocharged F1 engines were some of the best in the biz and the Vtec was developed for F1 but was sh!thouse!
If you are a fan boy of hondas, you are a fan boy! Personally i'm a big Subaru guy and plenty of people dislike them!
IMO If we are talking ricers and bang for bucks, i would definitely sway more towards a Nissan RB or CA as opposed to any Vtec Honda!
I have had a few Subarus and would take another over a BMW.

It is doing the same stuff as yours did Ryan

The car is due for a service and no I have the overwhelming suspicion it is the sparkplugs because I was sitting in a friends one and it did the same thing and he has a spark plug that had popped out. It is like it is missing badly.
-
does the problem go away after the car warms up?
No it seems to last but when I went for a little drive about 2 hours after posting it the problem was gone?
-
You wanted help you got it, there's no need to cry.
And how have your posts been helpful at all. Its obvious if I wanted to blow all my money I would take it to a dealership. Your posts have been entirely redundant, take it to someone how knows? I am just asking for advice from people who I assume may know.

Maintenance comes with owning a BMW, can't afford? Buy a Honda.
Does being a douche come with it too? Or are you like that on your own?
If you're going to take a dig at me. At least make it a good one yeah?
-
Take it to someone that knows then, easy.
Moneys isn't something I have very much of atm lol. The 318ti just decided it doesn't like it's radiator and e39 doing this, baaad 24 hours
-
also check for vacuum leaks around all the pipes on the inlet manifold
Put this into never worked on a BMW have no idea where anything is speak
-
Take it to a dealer and DONT run it on 91 - read the handbook
What handbook lol. The guy I bought it off hadn't taken a wheel off the car in the two years he owned it and it have rice as chrome lights.
-
Who can do that? Any where recomended?
-
possibly air flow meter?
But that is a random guess and there is no point in guessing!, get it scanned.
Scanned?

Driving my 99 525i today and it feels like it is shuddering when it is under power and when it is idling. It is not doing it all the time but it is when it is idling. I initially thought this could be the fuel filter or something but I just don't know BMWs. It is idling at around 600rpm which I thought was a little unusual and when you rev it it sounds like it is bogging down? I have recently switched from running 91 to 95 as of this last few days. Is this a serious problem or does anyone have a clue what this is and how to fix it?
I thought it could be a problem with the spark too but I don't even know how to get to the spark plugs on that motor.
-
Nothing to do with the fuel filter... get it professionaly checked... it will need scanning first
Two BMWs broken in 24 hours. Awesome.
-
???
I started to run it on 95 and now when it is under power it is shuddering some times and in idle. I am assuming that is a problem with my fuel filter as it did it since I own the car very very occasionally on hills and has progressively been getting more common.
-
Swore at my fuel filter. Car is running rough now that I put 95 in it, service time.

Well, looks like you made the right choice
I'm not so sure haha. Slightly regretting my decision.
-
I almost bought an EG9 Civic with a fully forged b20 bottom end with a b16a head before I bought the bmw.
-
Haha crack up Graham!
F1 cars used to put out 1000kw from a 1500cc engine!
In the end they decided they would rather a car that could go around corners...oh and rwd
When did we jump from cheap fun to some of the most expensive cars on earth? I save and go by a DC2 and you save and go buy an F1 car and then we will see who gets there first yeah?
So what if it just vvt, for bang for your buck a little d16b is a pretty solid choice if you are on like a 2k budget and don't want to run a turbo or pay massive insurance. They are good for a first car because they are cheap, cheap to run and maintain and are easy to tune up.

Bimmersport should rent out a boxing ring as an event
As resident kickboxer. I can arrange this haha. 16 ounce gloves and shin guards though. Don't want anyone thinking they are pro or something. Otherwise I have some 140 ounce gloves if you want to duke it out in a field.
What'd you do to your BMW today?
