bekker 7 Report post Posted June 12, 2007 My e28 handbook says SEA80 gear oil for the M535i and about 1.25 litres. Go synthetic - Penrite, Amsoil, or Redline would be good choices. Penrite is my personal favorite. Try the two links below too (although neither are synthetic). http://www.penrite.com.au/html/s02_article...p;nav_top_id=55 http://www.castrol.com/castrol/productdeta...ntentId=6007785 FYI, diff oil is Hypoid gear oil SEA90. Make sure its LSD oil!!! About 1.9 litres. Good luck.

bekker 7 Report post Posted June 12, 2007 No its not. You probably wont do any harm using that grade but in this climate its not really necessary. Its not hard to find 90 LSD oil. Supercheap auto stock both Castrol and Valvoline in that grade. Or you go into BNT automotive (do they have on in HB?) and get some Redline. Thats what I'd do anyway. You dont need too much and you don't replace it that often so I'd say go for some good stuff. If you do need anymore help, feel free to PM me. Cheers.
