Guest Spargo Report post Posted May 7, 2004 Much stronger, as they have to carry more weight (vert shell is heavier) Seeing as the rear suspension in an E46 is coilover, it has to carry more tensile strength, whereas the E30 has 2 points to carry the same load, due to the independent suspension design.
