tibbs.james 1 Report post Posted July 27, 2007 Howdy all Today i picked up some Rage Resonators for my E30 $58 each which is reasonable, hopefully i will fit them myself and let you guys know how hard it was to do before i get flamed i have had advice from an exhaust tech on the correct fitting, and have been given plenty of scrap exhasut tube so i can practice my welding before deciding to go ahead or wuss out ! Dads welder is a nice one too. at the moment with no cat converter and a stuffed muffler it sounds horrid. if the pic uploads thats how i plan to fit them, same spot as the cat used to be as its the striaghtes piece of pipe so yeah will take pics if i get round to it and perhaps do a mini write up if somebody cared ! tibbs.james 1 Report post Posted July 27, 2007 welders are great and i like doing things myself too. more skills are always good. Eventually i want to get good so i can make engine mounts headers and crossmembers.anyway figured somebody might like to know how it goes incase other want to do the same. i do plan on removing the exhaust before i start any welding to make life easier
btccm3 1 Report post Posted July 27, 2007 a good mate of mine is a welder and he always puts a couple of small tack welds while its on the car so it sits in the right place then removes it and completes the weld properly. do make sure to disconnect the battery though, engine management computers dont really like spikes in voltage or high current for that matter.
